I would appreciate any help on Removing Galaxy and the only game I own from GOG.
I'll take a loss just to get rid of all this.

Thanks!
I can understand wanting to get rid of Galaxy but the game can be installed and played without it too. Not sure if multi-player works without though someone else might know and come tell here soon.

For account termination, you will need to contact support. The forum is not the way to do that. Click on the support link.

Why would you need help. Simply go to add remove programs in windows and remove them? As said if you want to close your account the speak with support. Question would be why? You can download offline installers from your library on the website with no (or not very much) galaxy components. So it is drm free, even if that part is well hidden now.
Well, I was able to get Diablo & Hellfire to run in a larger screen, but not Diablo Classic.

There's no Multi Player (unless i download 3rd party stuff) which blows! This is the main reason it was purchased here.

Uninstalling and attempting to just install the game without Galaxy is not possible!
It will always download and install Galaxy, and must have Galaxy to Run.

I'll never make another purchase from GOG, so I really don't care about any of it. To me it's a Joke, and if Steam would've had it I never would've came here at all.

That doesn't make sense, you are not happy using a client so you will go to another store that forces you to use a client.

Also please visit the games forums

https://www.gog.com/forum/diablo#1598903619

There is a lot of information and help on the game which can be useful.

I do own the game and in Lutris it shows the base game and the game with Hellfire expansion.
I'm sure you're missing something. I haven't had this issue ever.

By the way, great choice in games. The classic Diablo series is awesome. I'd play it over and over again if I had the time.

If it installs galaxy then you didn't download the offline installers. And install the game to a location such as C:\Games
To download them look at a picture that I have attached.
and to play multiplayer you don't have to download anything else just use LAN.

Multiplayer is often through galaxy or other third party. Agreement is that single player only is drm free. Always has been.

Diablo can be installed via the offline installers, I have it on my machine now and no galaxy, never has been galaxy, never will be galaxy. You have downloaded the galaxy enabled downloads, use the offline backup installers, hidden under a section in your library on the web site. Also, fully remove galaxy.

There is nothing untoward going on here. Single player is drm free and does not require galaxy. Gogs position to try to force galaxy is something we are mostly against here, however they have to appeal to those who use steam - yourself included - and those people expect a client, hence why it is pushed in your face. With a bit of digging though you can get the game files.

Oh, and if you like Diablo, check out:
The hell: https://www.moddb.com/mods/diablo-the-hell
This is the original game plus some quality of life, better screen resolution etc.
The hell 2: https://www.moddb.com/mods/diablo-the-hell-2
This is the same, but with loads more content.

For both, you download the zip, expand to a folder (c:/mygames for instance, never windows folders!), then copy over diablo.mpq and away you go.

You could simply uninstall Galaxy and leave the game installed.

Or you could install the game without Galaxy if you use the offline installer. You seem to be using the online installer which just installs Galaxy and uses that to install the game.
If you use the offline installers, multiplayer works fine via LAN. Or via virtual LAN (Hamachi or something similar). I still play it from time to time with friends, using the GOG version.

But does uninstalling Galaxy remove it completely? I've heard complaints now and again, that uninstalling still leaves traces of Galaxy in the system. I.e. that it is one of those programs that are hard to get rid of, once they are installed. Is that true? It would fit everything else about Galaxy, but I never tested it.

I would also imagine that galaxy is quite invasive, it’s for our own good of course. Most of these types of things are, leaving remnants all over the system, through the registry and such like. Geek uninstall can help, but a good through check of all folders should be done, and even then the offline installers come with some components of galaxy.
