gog galaxy...i cannot seem to get the download to intall properly it keeps saying it is running and cannot load

More specifically, what are you trying to accomplish?

i downloaded a game
i then tried to down load gog galaxy as per instructions
the message i keep getting is
gog.com is currently running close all and try again
i do not know what to do with that information

Sounds like you already have Galaxy running in the background.

You should also contact GOG (https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/categories/201553025-GOG-Galaxy). Your technical problems are surely something they will be very happy to help you with.

In the meantime, you could check if Galaxy is already installed and running.

To check if a program is installed: click on the windows icon type "galaxy" in the search form. Is there anything?
To check if a program is running: click on the windows icon, type "Task Manager" in the search form. Click on Task Manager to start the application, click on tab Processes and have a look if Galaxy is already there.

I don't use Galaxy myself (all games also have classic installers which also run quite fine), so I cannot help you more there. Good luck.

so how do i get the game to open?

Maybe somebody with experience with Galaxy can comment on how to bring Galaxy back to the foreground if it's currently running in the background.

Is there a little GOG circle there? If so, you might want to click or right click it to bring it to the fore.

A: If this invokes the Galaxy Client, then:
A1: Navigate to your games library.
A2: Click the title you desire.
A3: Install. Wait.

B: If there is no icon, then we don't know.

Just a guess, but I wonder if when they downloaded the game, they got the Galaxy installer (which is pretty easy to do...). After installing that, if they then got the standalone Galaxy installer then it might complain that Galaxy is already running.

install older versions of directx. that's literally the only advice I have.
