Galactic Rim.

Mech Parts Kit DLC is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Big problems call for big solutions and you can't get much bigger than a mech. It's time to craft your own robotic warrior from dozens of ship parts, pick a funky color style, and get right down to business, brutalizing all kinds of oversized space-baddies.
Sigh, it's Stardock again, releasing as many DLC's as there are stars in the "sky". Pass,,, Try some quality control on your base games before releasing "extra" content.

I'd much rather have Mario Kart DLC.
You know, I might not mind the endless DLC as much if each pack was a well-balanced, fully fleshed-out new civilization. But the crap Stardock peddles as DLC? Not interested, and no longer a fan.

Did they ever fix basic problems such as the A.I. not being able to use the adjacency system to build effective planets? Or is the A.I. still touted as great while being given flat-out cheats such as no maintenance costs for ships?

mqstout: Just not too long ago, the other "parts DLCs" were made free/bundled in... So why would I be enticed to buy another one now? Can I have this one free as compensation for the other one I previously bought but is free now?
+1

Yeah. Another DLC. Not sure they actually improve the game by it. Economic development at the worst. Probably one should stay away as much as possible.

UnknownFact: You seem to be missing on tons of sci-fi work in the past decades, my young padawan.

Mr.Mumbles: There's a difference between those and then this Battletech/Warhammer mech inspired design, which looks completely out of place here.
Kinda ironic since most Battletech mechs were initially space mech from shows like Macross ^^
(Has been changed since, and I'm not a fan of the new design, but hey, copyrights happen)

DarksideBD: Stardock shakes the magical DLC tree again, and again and again!
Right now the full game currently stands at £63.19 on GOG.
Yeah. Things like parts, character and ship creation design/creators should always arrive with the base game, as it's part and parcel of the foundations of the play experience. Expansions or "DLCs" rather, are new pieces, maps, game mechanics that actually increase a game's scope.

All this splicing and charging for every little knob, is just overboard.

Also the game still loves to crash to desktop two years after release. So much about the quality of this game.

Shhhh, we don't talk about that. It never happened.
Uhhh, dunno what point does putting mechs into space game has, but ok...
I bet the void (because not really earth) will tremble and shake with every step.
I`m not a fan of the "transformer" robot stuff, but I do like more options, more colours and more customisations. The more the merrier and I`ll find lots of ways to make use of these parts to make ships that no one has even considered yet- just have imagination.

All good and thanks to the Devs for this.
Still waiting for the complete game getting released...

Reading comprehension. "parts DLCs" (non-gameplay, like the others). See the map pack and builder's kit. You already noticed they're free now, where they previously had been paid, like the mech one is now.

EDIT: Relevant recent historic post: https://www.gog.com/news/galactic_civilizations_iii_map_pack_builders_kit_dlc_free

To me every single DLC is just another Part of the full package, split into many DLC parts.
I wouldn't call the map pack "Parts" in the sense you mean either.

Eventually all DLC will become parts included in the full game, just like GC1, and GC2 are now sold as one package.
I don't follow the game forum, though I own the base game, I wont ever buy any of the DLC for it.
