tinyE: In crawlers like Diablo, Sacred, and Torchlight being a big strong moron doesn't really change how the game unfolds.

wy4786: lol, I like choosing the dumbest answers :D makes RP more funf or me
Have you ever played an "unintelligent" character in a Fallout game? The dialogue is quite hilarious, as it is mostly in simple words and grunts. Most NPCs talk in a very condescending tone to you, it's great. -Also on that note, in Fallout 2 there is a NPC that isn't the smartest and talks in very broken coherence, but if you also play as a dumb character, all of the sudden he speaks in very educated and proper english, and your dialogue options also reflect that. Haha.

NetHack also has a barbarian class, not my favorite, but as for just plain hacking up enemies, he's a solid choice.

Yes, because there wasn't a barbarian class in BG1 original release. I'm pretty sure he used the barbarian ranger package in BG2... but I've been wrong before.
Pillars of Eternity.
I had barbarians in my Icewind Dale 2 and Temple of Elemental Evil parties where they were quite useful (role of the max strength damage dealer).

PetrusOctavianus: They're great for an Iron Man run as well, being immune to the Game Over spells.

Matewis: That's interesting, what would be an example of a game over spell? Petrification?

Infinity engine game iron man run though ... nooooo thank you :P
I'm thinking of spells like Maze and similar, which can be difficult for other character to protect against.

Only in theory.

In Master of Magic, your race of choice can be Barbarians. They breed fast and fight hard, but aren't that good at magic. Or making money, for that matter.

And you can be a barbarian in Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, which uses the D&D v3.5 ruleset. You can play as any available race, including Halflings(!), but Half-Orc barbarians really look the part.
