I would like that people at Frogware provide a definition of DRM-free. They seem to think it's something it's not. Ingenuinity? Anyways I hope they solve this mess and the game can be back at GOG. It was fun watching my flatmate playing it and I would like to give it a go one day.
I can confirm the Gamesplanet release is 100% DRM free. You download an installer and a bunch of .bin files, same as a GOG release. I installed and launched it without internet and it works great.

Who knows when it will come to GOG because of the legal disagreement, so I think this is a good choice.

Glad you got it sorted, StingingVelvet.
