Few weeks ago,i was suspended on steam general forum because i said that one of my ancestors participated in battle of Vienna against Otoman empire ...
Unfortunetly for me, in someone's imaginary point of view - my words were ''disrespectful'' , no matter i said historical fact ...
I have also been banned when i said Julian Assange,Edward Snowden and Donald Trump are heroes of modern era ...There were a lot of other examples like these, i can wrote whole bible here ...

I'm pretty new to GOG, i will buy Cyberpunk here, so im curious - can i expect same level of censorship and crimes against freedom of speech as i witnessed on steam forums ?? Forums there are full of whiny liberalistic snowflakes ,and you can be marked as nationalist, racist, xenophob, nazi, fascist for anything and everything you said ...
Is it the same situation here ?
As someone who has used both forums quite a lot i can say the steam forums mods are overall much ban and censor happier than on GOG, not saying GOG is perfect and they tend to dislike excessive swearing that they may censor out if you use it too frequently probably because it's unproductive and doesn't add to the discussion, they may also close some threads that have derailed into bickering but as i said, my experience on Steam forums are worse.

Read the forum rules. Everything you're complaining about is explicitly not allowed to be discussed. There is a strict ban on discussing politics... which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If Gog wants to disallow certain discussion on their forum that's their prerogative.
What firstpastthepost said.

Here is the link the COC.

Follow these and you'll be fine.

Freedom of speech does not apply to a private forum. You're always free to say what you want, you just might be asked to go elsewhere to say it.
That is not a violation of your freedom of speech, nor is it censorship.
Welcome.

Snowflakes, taking part in or starting political discussions, complaining about mods limiting their freedom of speech... Red flags for anybody else?

Forget about Steam rules. Read GOG Code of Conduct as was advised by others and please send me a link (in private or here) regarding battle of Vienna against Ottoman Empire. I absolutely have to see this.

I wouldn't call it that strict to be honest.

To anrwer OP, there are tons of different platforms to discuss politics on. I don't understand why gaming forums needs to be another place for "fking snowflake libtarts!" "trump voters are morons" and so on, it's tiring enough on every other social platform in existence.

Political discussions not related to a video game are not permitted. Threads created exclusively to talk about politics will be locked. Users who ignore this rule repeatedly will be met with moderation.

Oh. While I can tell you that these rules aren't really that strictly enforced, I even got downvoted two times! But its because of that, that I have no idea why you got banned. There even are people on here that have "I <3 DJT" at their profile statement. In my opinion, you either crack down on these sort of discussions no matter what political affiliation you may belong to or simply just allow it.

Perhaps there was another major reason that lead to you getting banned? I can't imagine that simply saying the things you've mentioned lead to a ban, not on this board.

GoG does not allow Freedom of Speech. The GoG forum isn't as ban happy at the moment as it has been in the past.

Also, this forum is no different than any other forum or place in the world. If you say something the Left does not like or agree with - the left here will report you, try to get you banned and will down vote your posts en mass and suppress speech, thought, opinions and facts.

Yeah, superheros are great. Who would win in a fight of Julian Assange vs Donald Trump vs Edward Snowden? :P

I agree that it's not strictly enforced. The mods are fairly lenient really, but for the sake of simplicity it was easier to frame it that way, especially since that's basically how it's framed in the forum rules. I think there is a bit of a loophole if it's being discussed in the context of games, but that loophole being used almost always devolves into a shit show of a thread that gets closed.

Might worth peeking at the code of conduct and then tell everyone why Thief 2 is still the best stealth game.
