Like the current offer, Carmageddon TDR 2000. Nah, gonna pass. The new one looks more fun and TDR would just sit there on my digital shelf - and the hard drive, because who-am-I-kidding-you-gotta-back-those-suckers-up. I figure that if I KNOW would never play it, then why bother? Library = Library + 1? I've nabbed some over the years, but it's not a knee-jerk click whenever the free-stuff banner comes up.

Thanks for the offer, though, gOg and the publishers who make these freebies available for a while. Free games - especially in conjunction with a new addition to the catalog - are a nice gesture.

Just curious if others are selective in which offers they take.
I have ever only skipped one that I was totally sure of. Now I wish I had skipped grabbing a few demos that got added to my library in a weak moment.

If you are even a little curious, it is easy to grab a free copy to have a look.

I take the free for 48 hours games even if I am not interested now, because I might get interested later. But the permanently free games, no I don't add them to my library if I don't think I'll play them. Sure I may lose some games that stop being free at some point, but there is less clutter in my library.

That's the funny thing about it. There's no penalty for taking the offer and doing nothing with it, letting it just sit there collecting dust in the online library. But still...
I take most of them if I have even the slightest interest in them, but I have passed on a few (and pass on a lot of Humble's freebies unless they are something I like) if I thought there was no chance of ever playing them.

This.

I would suggest playing Treasure Adventure Game. It is good.
This is the first I haven't gone for, didn't think I'd play it.
Were any free games horror?
I maybe didn't get one horror game, because i don't like horror anymore.
It's also the matter of setting priorities and avoiding traps. In my library I have games like Witcher 3 GOTY, Divinity OS1, Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun that I haven't still played. I don't want to spend even one hour to play something that is not a must for me.

i'm a bit of a completionist so if i get one part of a series for free, ill probably buy the others. so i avoid the ones that i don't intend on buying the rest of whatever series they belong to.

i already had the rest of the carmageddons tho, sooooooooo.... freebee!

I grab all of them, especially if it's not a game I normally would play :) It's a great opportunity for me to try something different :)
I can't remember for sure if I ever gave a temporarily free game a pass (except if requiring creating an account somewhere I do now want an account) but I doubt it. My philosophy on free games is that tastes change, even at 54.
I don't grab stuff just because it's free. I've skipped tons of freebies before.

However, if it looks interesting or if I already own it in physical (often most likely incompatible with modern hardware) format and generally liked it, I'll snatch it up.
I have passed on a few. There are some genres and themes that don't appeal to me. If I know for sure I won't play the game, there's no point in adding it to my library.
I'm passing them most of the time. Because I don't want to have games sitting in my library that I'm never going to play. It bothers me to have them there. So if they are of no interest I pass. It is a great thing to offer free games, but that does not mean I need to take them ;-)
