GOG makes a point about being DRM free, yes, but I would hardly say that's what the site is all about. As a matter of fact I would say the main draw of the site is older games running well on the newest Windows, which is something Steam sometimes fails at. It's unfortunate that many people here insist on framing every thread into a DRM crusade.

You're right, but DRM-Free is the big huge feature. It's always been DRM-free.

Because for a lot of us DRM-free IS indeed the main draw. I don't want Steam. I don't want a Steam-clone that happens to be better at running older games well on Windows. I want DRM-free. That's why I'm here. As I've said in the past, I would not be PC gaming at all if I weren't able to download my games DRM-free, have all the installer and files, and not need to use any client to play them.

Most of us older users are here because of that sole reason.Without it,being on GOG wouldn't make much sense.Cheers

Good for you, but the incessant preaching about DRM makes this forum resemble a cult sometimes. I'm anti-DRM as well, and in my 10 years on this forum have said that plenty of times. However when people make GOG all about DRM, and treat an optional and DRM free client as some kind of stab in the back every time it comes up, they're going off the reservation as far as I'm concerned.

Good for you, as well, then? Kudos on the mudslinging. Much easier to call people who have a narrowly-defined interest a "cult". It couldn't be that we simply know what we want and stand by our principles. I am glad to hear you are anti-DRM too, though. Wait this paragraph is far too thought-out, hang on, let me rephrase into what you are probably expecting out of me: "ONE OF US...ONE OF US..."...lol.
