thanks to Primal and Joe, I'm hooked on this game. So hooked in fact that I'm running a mafia game in the real world for one the ESL debate classes I teach, and wanted to clarify a few things for the meat world version:

- for the voting, do they need to officially state "vote abc" or do they just argue until they come to a consensus?
- is it usual to roleclaim at L-1 in the party version?
- is there anything else I should be aware of?

That's not really necessary, and would probably be too bothersome. Usually they reach a consensus rather quickly anyway. You might want to do an official-ish votecount if the debate starts stalling, though.
It's been ages since I've played it, but I don't think so. After all, the roles in the meatworld version are much simpler, so there isn't really much to claim; only doctors or cops would benefit from that, and they would probably do so anyway.
That the RL game is surprisingly different from the online version. Much faster and much less logical.

Incidentally, the ESL Mafia was awesome. The SK even won a game after the last surviving mafia CLAIMED mafia in order to convince the townie to vote with him against the maniac. Needless to say it didn't work. >:D

People (xyem, muttly and potentionally others), "bah! post" should be made after next day starts, not during nights.
And it doesn't necessary has to be only "bah!". :-)

The article about claiming should read everyone, it has some intersting parts conflicting with our way of claiming here.

Also I think the first post should be either linked in sign-up threads or at the beginning of new games (or both) so people new to this can find it easily.
