ZFR: OK, let's get a sign-up post. Who can play Among Us this weekend. No talk, just text chat. Post availability, and I'll organise something.
Not in, but B and I had watched some streams of this game early on ... with this crew it is pretty sure to be hilarious!
Wish someone could vid it for posterity.

my name is vaughlte catte: ... I'm not feeling so great right now. Organise it whenever between you all and maybe I'll drop in depending on how I feel at that moment.
Quit tasting the mutants then. :p
More seriously, please take care. I sincerely hope it isn't anything serious and that you feel Purr-fectly fine and Catte-tastic soon.
Hi, all!

Among Us is a short game, right? Never played, but I could on Saturday.

Hope everyone is doing well. :-)

JoeSapphire: beesh I've got some stuff going on all weekend. I reckon saturday is better than sunday but I might have to bring a friend who is non-gog but has heard me talking about mafia games long enough that he probably knows who all you guys are anyway
Wtf, where is this person and why aren't they playing with us already?

It's very short, yes. It shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes tops per round, possibly less, depending on how many of us there are and how we're playing. Initially it may be on the longer side but after a couple of rounds when most everyone picks up on the mechanics it should speed up.

Hey there! How are you holding up? I can try to Shadowplay the games from my perspective and upload them to youtube but I doubt it'll be as funny as actual streams where you can listen to people voice-chatting. Still, doesn't hurt to try.

No promise right now (haven't even bought the game yet), I think I should be able to play. Saturday is better than today.
OK, so let's say provisionally 20:00 UTC Saturday. We'll see how it goes from there. Anyone is welcome to join around this time.

Be there or be square.

I'll try out the game today or tomorrow morning.
How do we join? Do we need to know our steam ids?

the host just sends out a code, and they can decide whether to have only the people who know the code join, or also open it up to whatever internet bizarros are looking to play
Gotcha. So we can share the code here...

And for those who played it already, what's the best way to play (outside a game with specific friends like here). You can just join a random game?

I don't know if you set preferences for size of game, but I've been told by a few people that 10 players with 2 imposters is the best way to play.

and don't get colours confused! The first time I died my friend turned up to see purple walking away from the corpse I was like "aha! we got the bastard!" then he was all like
"blue was there when I turned up and I didn't see anyone around" purple was like "really? how interesting..."
ffs
Pretty much what Joe said.

If you're trying alone you can do the free play first to get a hang of the controls which are trickier than they may seem and how the tasks work (some are a bit harder to "understand" at first). I suggest to get your way around one map at first and move on to another later on when you are more comfortable with the game. For now I only play on Polus as I'm most familiar with it.

Something I would strongly recommend is to watch a twitch stream of one of the more serious players (someone who has 1K+ viewers live) to see how they play as crew and as imposter and you'll get into the game a lot faster. Then know that the public games will be 10+ times worse than what you saw there as most randos are complete and utter idiots.

Also, most public game settings are quite terrible - either the crew or the impostors are too powerful and if you roll poorly you're going to play against the odds. Of course, every now and again there is a decent lobby with acceptable settings and players who actually wan to play the game rather than dick around and be stupid so just keep trying.

Once we get into our game it will be a lot better. Also, we can pad our game with randos and the more of us there are - the better the game will be as fewer people will be quitting for dumb reasons (like not rolling impostor or getting voted out and so on).

The most fun and engaging games are 10/2, yes but we can do with fewer people by balancing with the game settings (i.e. single impostor but can kill more often while the crew has smaller vision radius and/or has more tasks and so on).

Early Day start, because I won't have a chance to post tomorrow morning. So I rather start the day early, instead of letting you wait a day too long

Shadowplay to youtube would be great if you can! :) It would be fun to watch.

As for myself, I am taking it day by day. It helps that our relationship was so good and there are many good memories that still make me smile.

We actually saw one stream where the crew didn't realize one guy was colorblind. They finally figured it out and went to using the hats to id each other.

Have fun gang!
So I'm making a video game for my nieces' birthdays. It's a simple cartoony 2d platformer with them as the main character.

I'm completely stuck on what name to give it. Can't think of anything aside from something cheesy like "Emma and Mia's Adventure".

Any ideas? They're 9 and 11.

What’s the concept of the game?

Run in a fairyland sort of setting. Jump over obstacles, collect stars (and other items) for points, hit enemies (giant wasps or something).

There isn't really much of a story. I was thinking of adding a gift code at the end and making it that their birthday gift was stolen and they have to retrieve it.

They're not really gamers, so this is a very casual game.
