Lone_Scout: Great. Just f***ing great...
Another company that had a nice behaviour towards GOG users in the past and now turn their backs on us (while farting in our general direction). Sad, but not unexpected, news.

GamezRanker: Don't be so quick to blame the devs....if what others have told me about GOG is true(that they treat some partners well and others like dirt, like: making some pay listing fees and others not, updating the games with updates some partners provide quickly and others not so much...etc etc) then it could be just another partner whom GOG treated like crap that's trying to cut ties.
Well, if you look at where the For the King's Lost Civilizations dlc released...

.. Steam...

... Epic Games Store...

Makes me think Curve did a deal that didn't include GOG.

If GOG truly was treating them like cr*p(and if they weren't making enough money here as well), I am guessing they might've felt that cutting ties before the dlc was released was the way to go....sad and also unfair for those who bought it here, but I can somewhat get why they might've done it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this wasn't all about GOG treating them like crap. Not to say i don't believe GOG didn't treat them like crap, but this one seems underhanded with the whole need to remove DRM. Looks to me like they are playing a similar game.

Either way, I suspect we'll see more delistings as time goes on if GOG is treating some partners in such a manner and continues to do so.

As such, I think actual bad devs should be held accountable, but also that people shouldn't be so quick to blame the devs every single time.

This, precisely. We need to look at situations as they are, without necessarily just looking at one particular side with rose colored glasses.

Or automatically/by default looking at one side always with poo colored glasses as well.
Anything can happen, but if devs/publishers were not to blame or had honest reasons in this case, they wouldn't have answered any previous inquiries about the lack of updates/DLC with absolute radio silence. Or at least they would have made some statement about their decision...
This is disappointing news (and a Canadian gamedev nonetheless). I hope they change their mind later on.

NO no. GOG appears to have some degree of an NDA or something. I don't know the exact details, but it's very clear that devs on the whole have to keep their mouths shut.

Just because one company's(*cough* gog *cough*) radio silence is/can be indicative of an uncaring company, that doesn't mean that every company that does so is uncaring.

(that said, the devs could be uncaring/etc, but without more info we can't know for sure....and due to the NDAs mentioned by Kohlrak above the dev might not be able to tell us their reasons for delisting even if they wanted to)

Reviews say it is not Drm-Free, a good reason for this game store to delist a game. I watched the trailer and it looks interesting. Maybe once DRM-Free will be with us again, no exceptions...ekhm...

It's like a ritual in the old world to protectors :D

Oh, Great Protectors of DRM-Free games, we have gathered here to sacrifice a game for You!
Let its blood wash your thirst for revenge on broken promises,
let its sacrifice be visible and noted,
as we want to stay clean and DRM-Free here.
For the King! : )

I wonder what will happen to few other games.

edit: For Christ's sake we need truth. Why three reviews about drm.

What a story! ^

Another indie leaving... :(
Well, I bought the game to see for myself and I don't see any DRM. Where is it? After downloading the game, I unplugged my ethernet cable, installed, and ran the game with no problems.
mrkgnao brought this to GOG's attention, and reported the game's
"playable with no network (ethernet and wifi disconnected)". (version 1.0.14.10109)

Latest update [GOG]: 11 May 2020 to version 1.0.15.10131
Missing:
v1.1 Pre-DLC update and hotfixes (Steam, February 2021) ,
For The King: Lost Civilization Adventure Pack DLC (Steam, 10 February 2021) + subsequent updates and hotfixes

In the topic "Vague signs..." I predicted just a few days ago that Curve Digital is abandoning GOG. Too bad about The Ascent, which seems to be their only new game coming out that promised well.

To those interested in the game, I confirm that it has no DRM, the bug was created because they had released an update on GOG taken from Steam without the proper checks. The next update fixed the problem.

Anyway another developer to blacklist for their disgraceful behavior.
