Some awesome suggestions here. First time I learn about OnEscapee which looks pretty damn good.

Seems like you like the whole cinematic feel, in which case I'd also like to give a shoutout to the original PoP games, especially the second one.

Valiant hearts is another option perhaps, but I refuse to play it. Someone has to give me a guarantee first that the dog won't die :P

Tintin in Tibet perhaps as well.

Personally I also found that 'cinematic' feel for several of the good film-to-game adaptions, e.g. Super Star Wars, The Lion King, and Aladdin.
If your looking for a cinematic platformer, try Trine.
In other words, you want more cinematic platformers?
