Prah: The problem I see with merging series is that what if Game 1 gets a release but not Game 2 and 3? Will the wishlist entry count as completed or non-completed then? Or what if both Game 1 and Game 2 gets a release but not 3? etc.

PaterAlf: They can mark it as "in progress".

But I have to say that I don't like the merging of wishlist entries. Especially not when they merge wishes for an old game with the ones for a remastered/remake version (like they did with Grim Fandango).
That's why we haven't done that since :) The only times wishes are merged are when you have 10-15 wishes for the exact same game HD/remastered versions notwithstanding.
