Set the video settings to 1024x768. It should load from there. It looks like the game (at least my installation) is refusing to load resolutions it does not recognize.

Sadly mine just crashes after getting 1/4 through the blue loading progress bar no matter what resolution I set, including 1024x768, even on a clean boot of Windows 10 64. I suspect something in the 1803 build of Windows that released on Monday is the cause and GoG didn't have that build in house to test, so hopefully a future patch will fix it.

Avoid Windows 10 if you can

Indeed, the correct solution is to not use Windows 10, to tell your friends to not use Windows 10, and so on.

edit: Pointing out that a piece of software is serious flawed is not a "conspiracy theory". Please. It's just bad software. Call it what it is.

Well if you don't like it here you can go somewhere else, you do have that choice.

Silly question are you running AMD or NVIDIA?
I had this exact same issue and have found the fix. (for my computer anyway)

-Right click on your Star Wars Racer shortcut
-go to your Properties window
-click the Compatibility tab
-under the "settings" section check the box for "Reduced color mode"
-Set it to 16-bit color
-hit Apply

now boot up the game, this fixed my issue (I also made sure to set the video option to my resolution before also doing this fix)

I am running AMD, I was hoping for something in common there...

Oh ye of the tin foil hat...Episode I Racer runs fine on Win 10.

@couggod Definitely not necessarily AMD; my machine is equipped with a Radeon R9 270X, runs well. However, it could be a card specific issue. What'cha packin' there, partner?

Hey guys,

I am having same issue and have tried all the fixes possible?
Anyone have any luck yet?

I am running,

Win 7 Ultimate Service pack 1
I5-7500 3.40-3.60GHZ Quad core
R9 390X 8Gb
16Gb DDR4 Ram

Hope this helps!
no bloody clue. i have gotten it to run off and on but nothing consistent. the thing that seems to work the most often is to use a "-i" command line argument to turn off the intro video but if you do that the resolution settings crash and as soon as they do you have to start all over from a fresh install.
so to list things that seem to have worked.

fresh install with command line argument off.
set resolution.
turn on command line argument.
and it will sometimes work.
FOUND A SOLUTION that works for me (windows 10 Pro 1803).

1. Go to the game directory
2. Right-click SWEP1RCR and then "Properties"
3. Click "Compatibility" tab
4. Click "Change settings for all users" to un-grey out the boxes
5. Uncheck the box "Reduced color mode".
6. Uncheck the box "Always run as administrator"
