It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi there!

I'm new to gog, and this is my first time ever downloading a game and I'm not sure what to do. When I click on "Download 1 of 3) it says:

"Please specify the location of part 2 and click Ok.

By default the files should be placed in the same folder as the
installer itself. Please click Browse and specify the correct path."

I'm not even sure where to find the installer folder lol. I'm sure its incredibly simple
but since this is my first go, I've got no idea what im doing and dont wanna mess something up lol XD

Thanks for any input and help! (I have windows 8.1 btw if that makes any difference)
Are you using the downloader? (If not then it makes sense).

I know recently i got a invitation for Galaxy usage so do specify if you're using that...

Also are you using XP? Win7? OSX?

Most likely you are dealing with a large installer (over 2Gigs) in which case the files are going to be file-1.bin, file-2.bin and setup.exe.

Worse comes to worse drop a screenshot and i'm sure someone will notice the issue right away.

Check on the game card in your Account section and see if you downloaded the game with "GOG.com Downloader Mode enabled". If you didn't use the downloader, chances are that you also need to download additional files.

Please check the attached screenshots for an example.

Hello fellow hare! :D

So, depending on how you downloaded the files is how you're going to find them. If you used the GOG Downloader app then it has an open directory option when you right click on the game that finished downloading in its list. If you used your browser and downloaded it like a normal file, then you can either navigate your options to see where it sends your downloads or you can download something tiny like a cat picture and then right click > "open file location" to find the default folder.

For the files, they come in parts sometimes. So you need to download all of the parts to the same folder and and activate the first one. This starts the process and it pieces itself together.

Then you choose where you want the game to be. Some like it in Documents, some like to have a C:/Games folder or so to bypass any restrictions of user files so that things are easier to use/less errors.

If you have anything specific that you need to know or if it's not working exactly the same in Windows 8 as it would in 7 then feel free to further inquire. :>
Thank you!! I'm gonna try this and then I'll post an update! ^_^

btw, love your avatar! Sailor Moon rocks ^_^
Ok! I got it to work, I went through the customization to make sure it did not need to be patched, and it seems to work perfectly! ^_^ Thank you all for your help!!
