Someone's been watching Inception.

Other than that, I think it looks rather good, although I hope it will have more of distinct look, something to really set it apart from the rest of the MCU. I desperately want it to be good. I'm way more interested in it than Civil War. It's finally a chance for Marvel to do something really different. It's been my problem with the MCU from that start, that it all just feels and looks way to samey. And I hope it's more serious than the rest. I don't mean grim and dark, just serious. I would be very dissapointed if it's as comedic as Guardians of the Galaxy, or Ant-Man, or even Age of Ultron (Ultron himself was aparody of a villain).

My biggest concerns is that they'll make Strange too much like Iron Man. They will most likely need a replacement for Downey Jr. Stark after Infinity War, and the arrogant genius turned hero Strange played by Cumberbatch seems like exactly what they'd use for that, but then we'll be back to the old same stuff all over.

Breja: MCU.... Civil War... Guardians of the Galaxy, or Ant-Man, or even Age of Ultron... Iron Man...
What are you talking about?
Doctor Strange has been appearing in GOTHAM for quiet a while. :P
Is that the Matrix training temple?
Looking good to me. :)
Fine trailer.
it looks at a glance likle they are sticking close to the original Doctor Strange, which is fine. Cumberbatch also seems to be a good choice, he can do arrogant.

Nope, that is Professor Strange who is employed as a doctor. And not sure if a Psychiatrist is considered a doctor or not, though I guess it depends on whether you ask the psychiatrist or a surgeon.

As I am sure that you know, when a franchise is converted into a Hollywood film, it needs to be adapted in a way that caters to as many people as possible. Guardians of the Galaxy has a talking racoon and a cartoon tree as two of its main characters; it needed to make fun of itself for anyone to take it seriously. Ant-Man is about a guy whose power is that he can shrink and talk to bugs; it also needed to make fun of itself in order to gain the audience's trust.

Doctor Strange, on the other hand, will not need to do this. The public loves supernatural stories, such as the aptly named Supernatural TV series. Marvel won't have to try as hard to get people to care about a sorcerer as they had to with a talking racoon and a shrinking man. Be prepared for some levity, as that has become a trademark of Marvel's films (thank goodness), but I doubt it will be riddled with jokes.

As for Ultron, he was poorly executed in every way. In my eyes, he has been Marvel Studio's biggest misstep to date. I was so excited for the world at large to meet one of the Avengers' greatest villains, but we didn't get that at all.

EDIT: Back on topic, the trailer looks great. I am very excited to see more.

Iron Man does not need to make fun of itself, and IM3 was completely silly and downright cartoonish. A lot of Thor Dark World was goofy slapstick, including the climactic fight at the end. With the exception of Winter Soldier Marvel went pretty much all pants on head silly with it's movies after the first Avengers. And they lost neither money nor, to my surprise, audience approval by doing so. So I wouldn't exactly be surprised if Doctor Strange ended up like that too. I'm not saying that it's a given, and I very much hope it won't. I'm just saying it's not unlikely.

Clearly, I need to re-watch Iron-Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World because I honestly don't remember them being that funny/silly. I'm not denying your claim, I just legitimately can't confirm it either.

Who?
They changed the gender of The Ancient One to a woman.

Why ?

Say what you want about DC movies but at least they don't do this political correctness crap of changing race, color, gender of highly important characters in their movies.
