They should remake Final fantasy VII and VIII, both were mediocre PC ports

They at least took the time to splice in the original music tracks in VII. The original PC release had some garbage-tier midi arrangements when it first came out.

Well, that's what they're doing.

Not that things are looking too great for that project. It's an episodic game with instalments supposedly as long as entire games, one of Neo-Square's teenie-actiony battle systems, and Uematsu-san has not even been contacted even though development is in full swing.
I can't wait, even though I fear the interface will remain "phone"-y and awkward as hell on PC.
Steam page is up: http://store.steampowered.com/app/377840/

Supposedly, it's going to be out later this month, from what people are saying.

It's still just unbelievable to me that GOG either can't or won't get any of this stuff.
Subject's wrong. "Going to Steam". Not "Coming to PC". Steam's its own platform.
Nice! Blind purchase for me! This will be copy #3 (PS1, PSN on PS3, now this).

3. Final Fantasy VI
4. Final Fantasy IV
5. Final Fantasy X
6. Final Fantasy XII

3. Final Fantasy IV
4. Final Fantasy V
5. Final Fantasy IX

wizisi2k: If VII was 1.63 GB on a 6S+ and was only 3 disks, how much bigger do you think IX will be (VII on PC is 1574 MB) with all the remastering and its 4 disks (PS1 version)?
My physical DRM free old copy of FF7 need less than 100 MB, or so I remember

My old physical PC copy came on 4 disks. Though, I think you had the option of 100MB to 1 GB to install and the rest was streamed. And you can imagine my disappointment when despite coming on more disks than the PSX version, it only had MIDI sound. =\

At least with Midi you can either feed it to a keyboard, or a virtual driver (like timidity++).
