I am wondering is there a way I am not seeing to calculate how big multiple games (or your entire ) in your library are without have to go game by game and add them up manually?

For example, it now seems there is a need to do a complete account library backup. So needing to know how much storage I would need to buy in preparation to do that. At 500+ games doing a manual running total would be problematic.

Any suggestions?

I care about DRM free, so I download (all) the offline installers. This also means that, for me, it's pretty easy to know the size of multiple games.

I have 720 games, taking up 2,38TB. My advice for you: get a 4TB HDD (leave enough room for future games / other data).

Another suggestion: download the Gogrepo script and do a testrun.

Thank you.

Not quite what I was looking for but honestly a similar sized library with that estimate provides a good enough starting point to work from.

Ill start picking up a couple 2 TB external drives and work from there. (2 tb specifically due to the file format issue on windows based computers).

Shame they discontinued gog downloader so having to download 60gb games via a browser is going to be loads of fun. :/

Thank you just the same for the help. Much appreciated.

Edit: yeah it seems the gogrepo is going to be a needed thing regardless.

What version of Windows are you talking about? Even Windows 7 had no issues with 8TB external drives.

You can use Galaxy as a Download manager to download offline installers.

Slightly off topic, but I didn't think that was a problem anymore? I was under the impression that if you use the GUID Partition Table, then a secondary drive could be >2TB, and that even a boot drive could be >2TB if you install under UEFI and GPT?

I'd assume that external drives come pre-configured (although 2TB probably a value sweet spot)...

AFAIK, it was a Windows XP (and older) limitation, and there's even a way around it: https://www.ghacks.net/2010/11/04/how-to-use-3tb-hard-drives-on-windows-xp/

If the OP is still using XP, that library of 500 games must be relatively small (in disk size).

Yeah, primarily of value as well as accessibility for any given machine. So as to not need to do any setup work on each respective old computer that I would attach the drive to. Which I have a small army of machines I access/admin, most of which are win7 or there abouts.
