Fairfox: Dear Mr. and Mrs. GOGie,

I want teh Fighting Fantasy games on GOGie. So. Much. I want them in a large F.F. bundle. They're all mobile games, so they'd all have to beee teh mobile ports that already exist for Windows, Mac-y and Linux.

I want this to happen. Please make it happen, Mr. and Mrs. GOGie.

Sincerely yours,
Fairfox.

PaterAlf: As long as it's a good game, I don't care if it is a Mobile port or a game originally developed for PC.

Who cares where the game comes from if it's good?

If you really want to complain just say you don't like bad games (rather than blaming it on being a mobile game, or a pixelated game or a roguelike), and let's face it... who likes bad games?
Of course to say a game is bad you would have to have actually tried it, and I think for most who bad mouth releases they haven't and won't play the games they are condemning, not because they are bad (though they might be) but because they are not games that the individual likes themselves.
So really it's not even "I don't like bad games", it's "I don't want these games here because they don't interest me", which is more than just a little entitled and selfish isn't it?

I don't like Point and Click / Adventure games but I was very happy when the LucasArts games finally showed up, not because I would ever buy or play them but because I knew others would.

As long as a game actually works and isn't just an asset flip like you get on Steam then I see no reason to complain about it being here. People need to stop seeing it as "We're getting X game and not Y game and I don't want X game" and just see it as we are getting games. When I first came to Gog we were lucky to get two releases a week, now we usually get two a day (or more), so if you don't like a release just wait a few days and maybe something you do like will come out, and you can buy that instead of complaining...

I stick to my original point that mobile games on the whole are for mobile devices whether they are good or bad or pixelated, not that you dont raise some good points.
Considering the sheer limitations of phones/mobile, it's no wonder PC ports of them are generally awful. Still if they did a decent job of moving to a PC GUI then it could be forgiven, maybe... sorta... Most mobile games are intended to waste your time for a few minutes rather than keep you occupied for really long periods. This is good for if you're at the train station waiting for the train to arrive, etc.

I don't think we'll find many good mobile games... Not that there can't be good games, but...
Depends on the game really. Some games were planned for the casual mobile users who either are served ads or micro transactions. Other games were successful PC games before being ported to mobile (in this case most mobile users complain about the small text or whatever, because the game was clearly created with a larger screen in mind. There are good games on mobile in any genre, you just need to know how to find them.
I don't mind mobile ports, I do mind paying 10 bucks for the same shit that costs a dollar or two on the phone however.

This is one of my points, just a way to squeeze a bit of extra cash.
I'm not sold on the premise of different platforms not offering the same games.

The Marvellous Miss Take is, AFAIK, PC only, but seems like a type of game would feel natural on Android/iOS.
I like it a lot, and would probably re-buy it for on-the-go, if it ever did show up on Android.

Its this what i worry about. Some devious devs just port it across with no effort to justify the additional cost to the game on PC.

Oh and for those who like mobile ports, give me ten original mobile games ported to PC which are very good on the PC ?.
How can you be fed up by something which doesn't affect you?

By sitting in a high chair and eating what's on the spoon.
I agree with the OP, but I also disagree to a certain extent.

Crappy games on mobile platforms are just a "cash grab", porting a game originally designed for a mobile platform to the PC, without any change whatsoever is kind of lazy, and would tell me the developer/publisher doesn't really care about what they're pushing, they just want sales.

I think there is a possibility of a mobile game becoming a full fledged PC version; a) because playing games for which I have an affinity on my tablet and phone does not work for me; b) there is significant change in the presentation of the game to the user; and c) better controls for the game.

Indie developers create things on a platform most comfortable to them and more often than not, rely on user-feedback to adjust if they don't have the same hardware on which to test things.
