I know F.E.A.R. isn't on GOG, but I was wondering if anyone could answer my question. I'm on the part of the game called "Lapdog", and I climbed down a ladder into a tunnel, where there's a closed gate to the side, but strait ahead, someone places some mines. If I shoot the mines, they explode and I can go through without them detonating in my face. Then I turn left and have to kill a few of them. Then I go forward a little (there may be another turn - I don't remember) and I get to a place where there's a first aid kit on the left wall, but the tunnel turns right. There's another guy to kill there, and there's a huge, thick pipe going horizontally and I have to duck under it. But then I just hit a dead end where there's another gate. I can't open either gate. Where am I supposed to go now?

All I have to do is shoot the stupid lock?! Why didn't I see that? I must have spent about an hour just trying to figure it out!

I rather liked F3AR. A little at least. The first few hours were playable. I never really picked it back up after that.

Well, for me there is only the original FEAR. No expansions, no sequels. Played the expansions/sequels once, never looked back. Only replaying the original game from time to time. Decent AI, awesome horror experience.

I was under the impression the entire series was on rails anyway? Kinda like doom but with better graphics.

It went from an interesting Half Life style Adventure FPS to that.

The whole plot with Pointman, Paxton, and Alma could have been done better though. It did give an interesting story. Should have made Alma interacted with her children in 3rd game at least. Instead of being quite all the time.

"First few hours"? I completed the damn thing in three-and-a-bit.

But yeah, F.3.A.R. is shit. Not as bad as F.E.A.R. 2, although only because it's shorter so there's less of it to endure. Both are among my ten worst games of all time list.
