mqstout: Another wasted $15 since they decided only to do a Steam release for Popup Dungeon. Bastards. It should have been obvious through the dev diaries that they were going to to stupid things like deep Workshop integration (WORKSHOP IS A TROJAN HORSE!) and I should have requested a refund.
I don't quite understand, did you help kickstart the game, in the hopes that they would release it somewhere they didn't specify? Or where did you pay for it?

I agree that the way they integrated modding is subpar. They didn't even use Steam Workshop though, IIRC. It's something in-game, so you can't see available mods outside of the game, and the in-game system for browsing mods is bad as well.

Anyway, sorry for going off-topic here. I listed Popup Dungeon mostly because I haven't played any big 2020's RPGs yet. They're too demanding for my GPU...

1990s - Chrono Cross

2000s -Trails in the Sky SC

2010s -Divinity Original Sin 2

It should be noted this only takes into account of their release date, not when I actually played them. This is especially true for PC games. In the late 2000s time I played most Fallout 3/New Vegas more than anything else.

2070s... Going to have to go with Cyberpunk for now, but that may change in 48 years.

jk, I'll be long-dead by then.

samuraigaiden: And the year 2000 is still 90s btw.
How come? That'd throw a serious wrench even in what partial listing I could come up with, adding games from 2000 to 90s, but makes no sense.
1960s - Video games barely exist, and the RPG doesn't exist yet. Try again later.
1970s - Dungeon, easily. It's not like the scene was competitive.
1980s - This is where things get complicated. There's easily too many choices.
1990s - Exile II: The Crystal Souls.

It depends on who you listen to. Farmer's Almanac and others do treat the xxx0 year as the last year of the decade, but it's ultimately arbitrary.

The Anno Domini calendar, which is what we are all using to establish dates, starts from 1, not 0. Year 10 AD is part of the first ten years, the next decade begin at 11 AD and so forth.

But hey, feel free to do it whichever way you prefer.

- 80s: I'm not sure as I've never actually completed an RPG from that era. I'd probably go for Ultima 4 due to how revolutionary it was.
- 90s: a tossup between Daggerfall and Fallout 2
- 00s: Oblivion
- 10s: Fallout 4, followed closely by Skyrim and The Witcher 3
- (Bonus) 20s so far: Cyberpunk 2077
90 - Planescape Torment
00 - TES: Morowind
10 - Divinity: Original Sin
20 - Disco Elysium Director's Cut (it counts, damn it!)
80s: Wasteland
90s: Ultima Underworld/Planescape Torment (even score)
00s:Gothic 2
10s: Disco Elysium
20s: Elden Ring, but I have played nearly none so far.
90s- Planescape Torment.
00s- KotOR 2 The Sith Lords.
10s- Between The Witcher 3 and Disco Elysium, I like games with great stories.
20- Wasteland 3 so far... No, Pathfinder WotR, both.
