Fallout - the scripted railroaded ending
Arcanum - the richness of character creation
Torchlight - sending your pet to town to sell your loot
Mass Effect - the pacing
Demons Souls - the baffling which-weapon-is-the-righ-one-for-my-character-? system

I'm just getting started...
Sorry misteryo, but you stressed 'actual' in the title and then mentioned Torchlight which is an 'actual' hack & slash. :P

Yeah, that is a great part of that game.

I don't know why I haven't been upvoting every post you ever make. Consider my ways changed.
Definitely the fire and forget that the system allows as opposed to the more sophisticated one used by some of the competing systems. The RPG definitely has greater accessibility than something like an AT-4 that, while not so hard to use, definitely doesn't just make sense upon looking at it. Therefore, ease of use and accessibility are my favorite RPG elements.

Unless we're talking about role playing games, in which case I am not certain what is qualified under actual.

I do favor a role playing game if it can take down a chopper, though. So, good point.
