Bah, another launcher. I pass, I don't wanna do another account, even if I bet new Bethesda titles will force me to do it.
I'm trying that one.. i'm also curious-george. I like when phone-games comes to pc and get totally in rage-mode mostly because of controls.. Well actually I don't have much experience but that deus ex phone-port.. I'm still trying to get courage to install it again.. I'm not in a hurry.

almabrds: Another question, if you don't mind.
Is there any mods for New Vegas which you would consider essential?

On-topic:
Fallout Shelter 1.6 got released.

Apparently you can download PC version too.
The script extender, Yukichigai's unofficial patch or the Mission Mojave patch for stability, and maybe the NVAC anti-crash mod. If you plan on using graphic enhancements mods, then the 4 GB enabled patch will definitely be essential, as it will allow NV to use 4 GBs of memory, as opposed to the 1 or 2 it's restricted to in vanilla. You'll also might want to consider the stutter remover mod, but ONLY if you have any stuttering. If you don't, don't bother. I've never had any stutter issues with it, so I don't personally use it.

Weapons mods expanded is neat, as it enables ALL weapons to have 3 modifications, even the unique ones, along with the iHud mod that allows you to customize how you want the HUD to look like.

Also, if you'd like your New Vegas to look more like a modern game, there's the Essential Visual Enhancement mod, or the EVE mod, which will work even on lower end systems to make the models/effects/etc look like a modern game's. There's also the JSawyer mod that fixes some things and rebalances some other things, it might be something you'd be interested in. I hear good things about the World of Pain mod, which adds lots of new characters/locations/quests/content to the game, but doesn't feel out of place, lore breaking or worse, have extremely amateur voice acting.

Aside from that, I can't think of much else. Maybe someone would like to add a few more, but those would be in my "beginner's list."

+1
Great list, thanks for the help, Liquid!
I'll go to Nexus and get them.
Except the stutter remover mod.
I had no problem in my computer.

The launcher isn't that bad. I don't see the problem here.

Me neither, but I'm already grabbing my popcorn for the "blah blah clients and stuff". :p

almabrds: The Ugly:
-Yeah, it has DRM, if you're not logged in the launcher, game doesn't starts!
You can run Fallout Shelter directly and play it without the Bethesda.Net client.

The game also runs perfectly in Wine, I've been playing it in Linux problem free.

The only issues are:

1. If you want to do in-game purchases, the game has to be run with the client.

2. You need the client to actually get the game installed. This is a larger problem on Linux, since the client will not run with Wine (looks like missing Direct X 11 support), so you need to copy it over from Windows or acquire it some other way.

Please tell me how you did this. It doesn't run for me when I double-click the Fallout Shelter shortcut, if I'm not logged in.

Browse to where you installed the game, by default this will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda.net Launcher\games\FalloutShelter and just double-click FalloutShelter.exe or right-click on it and make a new shortcut.

The shortcut created by the installer doesn't actually directly run the game, it passes instructions through the launcher to start the game.

Thanks for the info.
It still has DRM, so I won't remove that from my list, something which I consider a flaw.
You're forced to register an account (unless you already had one), and login in their launcher to install the game. It would be like gOg forcing you to install and register/login in Galaxy, to install a specific game. Otherwise there's absolutely no way of playing the game (except for piracy, of course).

But it's not so bad like it seemed.
The game starts in offline mode, if I create a shortcut (like you said) by locating the installation folder, and finding the file FalloutShelter.exe.
You can't buy stuff, which is to be expected.
Afaik the only way to update the game is if you login in Bethesda.net launcher.

It's an aggravation to anyone who doesn't know about this hidden solution - the default shortcut created by Bethesda installer forces you to login to their client every single time.

I can't imagine how many players are experiencing DRM BS because they're running the game by the default Fallout Shelter shortcut. Funny how they add a shortcut to both Bethesda.net launcher and Fallout Shelter, and the Fallout shortcut does the same as the other one, loads the login screen.
