Just bought Fallout 3, downloaded all three parts- the setup application, and two BIN files, one 3.99 GB, the second 3.05 GB. Setup wizard states that the second part is not there, and directs me to guide it to the folder location. It point it to the proper folder; but it refuses to recognize it. I'm trying (on a limb here) to put all three parts (setup and 2x BIN files) into a separate folder and running it again; but I have a feeling that won't work. Any advice ? Thanks in advance.

Have you try to re download the second part? I have the latest version and it works OK, it's finishing the installation.

Have you check all the names are the same, only the number should change, so the -1.bin and -2.bin. Also check they are all the offline installers, you haven’t got one galaxy one for instance. If not, there used to be an option in the installer to check validity of files before installing, could try that if it’s still a thing. Finally, redownload the second part, might be corruption. Check in the browser to see it fully downloaded (how are you downloading by the way?).
I got it running. I had to modify the 2nd BIN files name. Thank you all, so much.

Great. Yes they all need the same name. I know there has been a case of browser changing file names, but it’s rare. If it works good, but I would be careful what you download as they should be correctly numbered if you download from your account.
Thank you. Planning on downloading NWN's next....

Some great games there. You can keep those installer files as well, backed up on a hard drive or two (in case one breaks), and then you always have them at hand for the future. And if you were modding F3, then you will likely reinstall a fair bit to get fresh. I can recommmend looking at combining F3 and new Vegas with take of two wastelands mod.
Thank for the tip. Debating NWN or Dragon Age Origins. I've played DA:O before and absolutely loved it.

TBH I would go both. They offer different things whilst being in a similar vein. The biggest difference would be that NwN has a huge modding scene, so you can get loads more campaigns, maps etc. It is an old engine though, even though beamdog updated it. So I would edge more towards NWN.
If my laptop will comfortably run Fallout: 3, will it run F:NV ?

Probably yes, it's the same engine.
I run a "Will it Run XXX" program (after I scanned it with multiple security programs). It stated that my system would not run it, but it threw me for a loop- I figured it would run.
