does fall out 3 launch and run in win11 with amd 3d cpu and and gpu

Windows 11 - Yes
AMD CPU - Yes
AMD GPU - Not sure
Probably. You've got a generous refund window on GOG, give it a swing.

And if it doesn't work, you can lobotomize Windows, install the Windows Subsystem for Linux, and use WINE to run it probably better.

W11 and AMD = Yup. I got it going on W11 with AMD R5 5600H laptop, though I use a NVidia GPU of RTX 3060m laptop-GPU.

F3 and NV are a pain though.

Definitely get these Mods: Tick Fix, 4gb Patch, and anything else you need for those games.

Royal pain to run right on Modern Windows (W8-W11), as W8-11 DX10-12 based and older DX's have depreciated....meanwhile F3 and NV are DirectX 1-9, which ain't friendly on W8-11.

I have to run F3 and NV in Windowed Mode via their game-options, for F3 and NV to work at all right. A lot of other games have this issue on W8-11, which were old DX1-9 games - i.e. Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 from retail and Steam, Deus Ex IW, Neverwinter Nights 2, Space Siege, etc.

I use BorderLess Gaming (BLG) to make a game I run in Windowed mode via the game's actual settings into a "Fake" Fullscreen of sorts - https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/9.5.6

With BLG, move any games to the right-pane for them to run automatically into BLG's "Fake" Fullscreen mode automatically. Yes, this is how I fixed some of those games I mentioned 2 paragraphs up.

To get better performance, I also use DXVK on F3 and NV on W8-11 with these games - https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/tag/v2.3.1

Is it? I just finished another complete run - well except for the UFO DLC bit because that one is kinda meh - of vanilla Fallout 3 (no mods, unofficial patches, etc) a week ago in Windows 10 and besides the usual Bethesda game oddities it ran just fine. Sure, I got the occasional random crash, but that's been a thing in all their games. Curiously, Win10 kept trying to tell me that there's a problem with the game on startup, but nothing else ever happened. *shrug* Hell, I remember running it in Win8 without any fuss either.

I've always had issues w/ F3 and NV on Windows 8+, no matter the version on W8+ - F3 GOTY on Steam and Epic; and FNV on Steam & GOG.

Basically running version 1.7.0.3 here for F3 with FOSE. And even when necessary, needed to downgrade (i.e. Steam and Epic) to get mods going (Anniversary Patcher)..

Not sure if it's an Nvidia problem w/ their drivers and/or modern hardware, as that's all I've ran these games on in recent years - i.e. 4gb VRAM 960m laptop on W10 and 3060m laptop with W11.

Whether it's boot-up problems, issues w/ fullscreen mode, framerate drops, and/or whatever else - always been a crap-show for me on my rigs here, until I got this down to a science basically w/ lots of messing and tinkering around.

To play at Fallout 3 GoG with my 7800XT, i have two solutions :
- Use this mod : nexusmods..com/fallout3/mods/17209?tab=description
- Play on Linux with Wine

That's weird. I've only had NVIDIA gpus for the past ~15 years. Ran all the Fallout games on them over the years (on at least 3 entirely different computers) and the only issue I ever ran into was the "weapon debris" feature that crashes FO4 without fail on RTX cards that everybody suffers from.

Hmmmm, could it be b/c I ran these all (F3 and NV) on laptops? [shrug]

About F4 - yep, I have to also disable Weapon Debris b/c they (Bethesda) never fixed the crash problem.

Looks like there's a fix for that (Weapon Debris problem) for F4 Old-Gen at least -> https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/48078

I played FO3 not long ago on Windows 11 and other than the 4gb RAM patch I did nothing else to it and it ran perfectly.
