I'm sure its reasonably explainable but there have been extra charges to my account purchases, like 10 cents to one game that I didn't notice for months and more recently 7 cents on another purchase and I'm sure its been that way for most if not all of my purchases. Its not that this is a big deal but its not recorded in the recipe for the games but only shows up in the bank. I was under the impression that VAT taxes don't apply to US purchases for digital goods... Is that incorrect? and if it is... Where is the tax going? I'm morbidly curious.
My last steam purchase certainly didn't have a VAT tax added...

Foreign transaction fee from the bank, thanks for the help.

Paypal fee?
Raise this with GOG support.

Planning to if I can't figure it out otherwise. Figured I'd try here first.

Its not paypal, I don't use paypal
No extra "taxes" here (using Paypal). Steam does add US state tax though, but GOG doesn't. You should ask your bank, given that it only shows up there.

Maybe foreign transaction fee? Or maybe you're paying in Euro and it's a conversion fee?

If GOG and it's the same as what I get: It's a foreign transaction fee your bank charges.

I also get them when using my bank card, but not on paypal(for some odd reason).

I am guessing it is this....I get it all the time when using my bank card through GOG.

Yep, that is likely it. I get it when travelling. Just a con after you already pay more most of the time than at home anyways.

Well it is a bank fee.....and many big banks are known for not exactly being fee lite.

Add to that the usual suspects making game stores like steam charge tax(Remember when more digital only goods had no tax? Those were the days), and it's just more ways for big companies and such to nickel and dime people.

That could be the case, I'll call my bank and see if they are added fees. I didn't think Gog would do that and I really didn't think my bank would but I trust Gog more then banks.

Well... Bank fee.

Foreign transaction fee of 1%

Thanks!
