PSA, u could install all EGS games through the open source Legendary (https://github.com/derrod/legendary) client, instead of the normal EGS client.

That is correct. And of course the giveaway this thread talked about was finished long ago XD.

Those looking for details about the DRM nature of EGS games will have to check PCGW from now on (or elsewhere I guess).
Why? GOG staff locked the aforementioned thread under a rather tenuous criteria that it was "advertising", thus it was against the Forum Code of Conduct.

GOG is busy throwing the baby out with the bathwater lately *shrug*.

I really am tired of these clients not having an offline install mode for games and their files.

Can Legendary be ran while offline?
If yes - can you use the files you have while you're offline to install a game while offline?

i mainly use legendary to download drm free games on epic.
after its downloaded, i simply use a wine script to run the executable...u could tell legendary to launch a game through wine (much like lutris)...both ways should allow you to launch the game..AS LONG AS ITS DRM FREE

legendary grabs the game files directly from epic servers using your epic API token....its not like gog's offline installer...once u download the game...u launch the exe directly...there is no "install" phase...

ive heard some people just making bkp copies of the game files which they download..u could do that.
