Sockerkaka: I wouldn't mind a few sub-forums, it would make it easier to find interesting threads.

As for the, more or less dead, game specific forums I think things around here is in need of a UI change. It's just too much of a hassle to search for the right forum instead of having all relevant forums in a clickable list with notifications when there's a new thread etc. I'd love to see a bit more life in the game specific forums.
If you would like to see Gog improve the General Forums you can vote for them here:

PaterAlf: No, I like the more or less chaotic general forum. And something like a subforum for giveaways would only attract even more scammers and leechers.

In my opinion things can stay exactly the way they are now.

madth3: From all the change the forums could use, subforums would be the last thing on my list.
Right below emojis.
They wouldn't even be on my list, but agreed on the rest.
Lot of those would be sparse and barely populated. Look at the game subforums....
I don`t think sub-forums are really necessary. (Reason: Too less threads to split the general forum in sub-forums.)
Some People Like GOG. But Let's Face It - You Might Be The Only One That Thinks That The General Forums Need Sub-Forums.
You lost me at "Everyone likes GOG".
When it comes to the forums, I think the GOG Search really needs to be updated. It's still incredibly limited and it would be nice if one could use boolean logic.

I don't need sub-forums. You don't need sub-forums. We don't need sub-forums.

At most I would agree with a "not gaming forum" but I haven't seen the need since I joined GOG. I'm not even a fan of the non-English forum even if I might have posted in the French (my first language) one in the past.
I think this was one of the first posts I made on the GOG forum. Nothing came of it, and I got over it. :P
I would prefer a more customizable way of filtering threads based on words or users, that way people can filter however they wish (or not at all).

The main reason ; is the following ;

since the new layout, game specific subforum is no more automaticaly added when you buy a new game.

so new users since this choice was taken , are not really aware of the existence of those.

best example : was when Witcher 3 went out. .... ;S

so before saying it's not really populated, it would be good to find the reason.

There's no point to create a topic for a game issue or whatever related , if there's a game specific forum -_-

GOG forum lacks visibility / organization; and i agree with the OP.
