Hi everyone,

have you ever played Tactical Intervention and if yes what's your opinion on this game?

Greetings
You mean like when a friend of yours has some issues so serious you need to call in SWAT to help him get a grip on his life?

leave me out of this!
I'm interested in all opinions, no mater if they are good or bad.

Was interested in playing it at the time after hearing that one of the creators of counterstrike was working on it. My interest even peaked after hearing that it had bots which is a big plus for me. But after seeing how buggy it was on it's release, it just fell off my radar. It didn't help that there were highly negative review vids just showing only the bugs and not even bother to talk about how the game played or it's various modes.

I saw the newer version on moddb and the kickstarter campaign. If those impressive gifs are from the newer version, then I really want the kickstarter campaign to succeed cause that looks fun. Hope they made the bots more smarter and challenging too.

You're welcome.

Ahhh ha, that was odd.

Hello PapaShango,

thank you for sharing your thoughts on Tacical Intervention.

It is true, that TI was advertised as a new Counter-Strike made by Minh Le. I also noticed that the game had a really low performance and was really buggy at the release back in 2013. It also did not feel like Counter-Strike.

The old TI is now dead, as the servers have been shut down, but we are now at the point where we can change things in the game like removing the F2P part and lots of other things.

Omega was pretty far on the bots, when the servers have been shut down, but i think he completed the work in the last weeks and i think he also said he did some extra tweaks so they get smarter.

I made this discussion to hopefully get usefull feedback on what was really problematic in the "old TI", so we don't make the same mistakes in TI-R (Reloaded).

If anything of what i write makes no sense pelase ask what i meant. The sense of what i wanted to say sometimes gets lost in translation from german to english.

You already got my interest with those gameplay gifs that was posted on moddb and now with the improved bot info, that has got me very interested. I don't think this site would be the best place for you to get feedback on the game. I assume you've tried the steam forums for the old TI as that seems semi-active

Also, the presence of an official forum would be great as that could make it easy for the original players to be able to give their input. Seeing as more and more people are noticing the 'TI-Reloaded' kickstarter, you could place a notice on the kickstarter page asking for feedback from those who played the original with a separate email address just for feedback.

Another thing I remember when checking the steam forums was some of the people were inquiring on how they can get new weapons and access the shop. Maybe they need a basic tutorial in the game. If that takes too much time, you could try putting information on how to access the shop and other key functions during a loading screen like some games do nowadays.

By the way, will you be advertising the game more now cause it seems to be a little quiet when it comes to 'TI-R' . Maybe some gameplay videos from the newer version would be great and an official channel where one could see said videos.
Yes, we placed the KS link in the old steam forum. We are keeping this forum and the app number as well, even efter we changed from F2P to standalone.

Aside from the steam forum we don't have another forum or homepage. There was one back in 2013, but it was taken down at some point. We should open another one and putting a e-mail address for feedback is also a good idea - thanks for that.

Getting new weapons and equiping them was a really big issue for new players. We were going to add a little tutorial that shows players how thingsare done, but now all that is removed anyway. All items will be available except items of the campaign supporters and DLC's of course. Maybe we add a little shop for cosmetic stuff some day, but not in the near future. Maybe we can keep the slot feature somehow as it may be interesting for tournaments.
The UI gets an overwork as well. It's going to be simpler so it's hopefully self-explaining. If not we make a tutorial even if it's just a video.

We are advertising TI-R here and there for now, but it's not as successful as it could be. We lack of money for a big advertising campaign, so there is only the mouth propaganda. Luckily we found a good partner who is going to do some streams and advertising mails.
Do you know big communities where we could collect some feedback and place our ad (if it's allowed)?

A playable alpha is about ready so we might be able to record some ingame action this weekend. The twitch streaming is also in the near future, but i don't know the date though.

When you do set up a separate email for feedback, make sure to mention that on your kickstarter page. Also, you might want to create a thread here too but read the rules and check a couple of threads there to see how the other users posted concerning their kickstarter project.

https://www.reddit.com/r/kickstarter/

As for communities, there were some big ones but a lot of those sites are gone while some splintered or migrated to other sites like reddit for example. There are a lot of sub-communities for gaming in reddit and it's like a maze. But one of the big ones in reddit would be this..(make sure to read the rules in the r/gaming reddit community)

https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/

You could try the modding site gamebanana since that has a lot of visitors and possibly some of the original TI players.

https://gamebanana.com/

This is the site's traffic just to give you an idea..

For advertising, have you tried reaching out to some youtubers like the ones who played the original so they can see the difference between the old and new TI. You could also try contacting these two as a start..

https://www.youtube.com/user/AngryJoeShow/about

Pretty sure angryjoe did some coverage for games that required kickstarter funding. It was informative and actually helped a lot.

https://www.youtube.com/user/xIVERTiiGOIx/about

I remember vertiigo doing some gameplay videos for titles that I have never heard of in the first place and most of these were in alpha stage. Plus, some of those videos were funny..so you might wanna try your luck there too. He lives in australia by the way, so take note of the time difference.

Hi PapaShango,

thanks for the ideas again, i'd forward them to the responsible dev.

We contacted reviewers who wrote something on TI back in ~2013 and we also contacted websites that write articles on video games. Additionally sent messages to some youtubers, as far as i heard most of them are not interested in making another review and the others have to wait until the alpha is fully useable. I noticed the new bots are not yet implemented and the P2W part is also still in, even if the item prices are set to 1GP.

The next days will be interesting as i don't know how good the exposure hits. From what i know one of our investors is going to advertice TI-R to his 100k+ customers via email and he will also do a twitch livestream soon. Another investor stepped in as far as i heard, but i don't know what he is going to do.

Greetings.

I am very curious as to how you're gonna put the word out in the next few days. This past week, there wasn't much done except for the kickstarter update and some new gifs on the moddb page. I definitely want your kickstarter to succeed cause the new TI shows a lot of improvement .

If you're somehow able to show gameplay with bots, then you'll still get some more players cause I've seen people inquiring about it.

Hm yeah, it's all a bit difficult and some stuff is not going as intended. I'm not sure which way the devs want to got and i am sometimes as surprised as everyone else ^^.

Anyhow... We have working bots now and they also work partly on driving maps. We also did the recordings for a new trailer. For now i'm focusing to push the competitive part as far as possible as that was a bit underrepresented imo.

That's good to hear, I look forward to the trailer.

P.S.- Hope the trailer ends with an explosion and shows some nice ragdoll effects..if it's not too much to ask.
