infinite9: Many JRPGs come to mind. The biggest offender was Final Fantasy XII due to Vaan. He was literally some pretty boy they threw in there just to get fangirls wet so that they would buy the game. He actually would not have been so bad had they given him a shirt and made his voice less feminine. Otherwise they should have made one of the older male characters the main male protagonist.
dtgreene: What if they had made the main character Ashe rather than Vaan? Would that change your opinion on that game?
Or what if they had taken the Final Fantasy 6 approach, where the notion of "main character" isn't particularly well defined?
It would have been better definitely.
