Hm 63 DLCs shouldn't the Dem... i mean vanilla version be free by now? Crusader Kings II has only half that and it's free.
Also charging 4.99 (10€) for a safe file converter so you can pay additional 300€ for CK II on top of ≈450€ for EU IV is hilarious! Seriously what is this game?
Oh, oh, oh and EU IV has Linux while CK II doesn't ROFL!

No, your topic subject is misleading once again.

EU4 65% off and all its available DLCs up to 50% off.

That is honest.

Please don't be a dishonest broker for a money-gouging corporation.

They are well capable of selling their own games and even Steam don't shill for them.

It has a huge following maybe even more than CK2.

Definitely a good game, despite the DLC crap.

Never got into it because I got into CK2 instead and who can afford to span all of the time between 769 and 1801 or whenever it is.

When it first came to GOG and I investigated, it apparently has gotten worse over time, with some of the patches and DLCs reportedly seriously breaking the game in ways. From what I could see in reviews... Also, the way Steam reports reviews: This game has a 13% negative review rate, which is within the range they call "very positive".

GOG's 3 stars is about in line with that (4 stars with "verified owners). Each star being about 20%.

Aside: I'm really glad GOG has 5-star reviews and not just "positive" and "negative". I really despise how systems have moved to binary only ratings.

SteamDB has it as 85.78%

Which I am going to totally guess (from my experience) is a 3.7~4.0 on GOG.

And as that rating is already designed to account for anomalies, I would take that as the true rating. Yes it includes the detractors of the DLC system who are well entitled to their opinion. You can't and shouldn't disassociate a game from its DLC or its DLC pricing structure.

Steam reviews are generally reliable, the only time you have to be careful of them is when they state that there was a "period of off-topic review activity" which usually means the publisher complained to Steam about negative reviews based on their fuck up and they tried to bury it.

So whenever you see a game on Steam where there is "off-topic review activity", channel the Streisand effect and make sure you inform yourself about why the company fucked up so badly they wanted to bury their mistake.

Paradox' games are never a bargain, regardless of price or discount.

CK2 has a successor, EU4 doesn't have one. It may be changed to that way, when EU5 is released.

Compare it to the verified owners score. It's like this for all Paradox games.

GOG always uses "up to (the highest discount)". I guess one could argue they're always dishonest, though personally I don't really care. (I just consider it pretty standard marketing)

Technically speaking, GOG is honest.

GOG.com: masterpiece and all its DLCs
It indicates, that at least one of the mentioned items' price is 65% reduced. Naturally, in almost all cases the highest discount has the main game, because discounts are often tied to release dates. And the main game is naturally the oldest released part.

I'll hold out when we'll have a decently priced complete collection. Even at a discount the cost of the DLCs is way to high.
