On this forum, is there a method that allows a user to get an email whenever a selected topic(s) receives a new post?

I'm moderately sure the answer is "no", but I usually turn that sort of thing off. I wasn't sure if I just wasn't finding it among all the different places that have options, or if it doesn't exist in the first place.

Example: Can I set an option so that I receive an email when someone posts to this thread?

No, not that I know of, but the new notification system is currently being tested in beta form on Galaxy. It should be rolling out the Galaxy and the website for all users soon enough. Hopefully within another week or two.

You will then get forum notifications more easy when someone replies to your post. As far as the topic itself perhaps that could be a future addition to the system? Post a suggestion in:

You do realize that is very old response right? The new system is already done and is currently in testing ready to be rolled out to everyone as soon as a few bugs are fixed...

Whether the website itself shows notifications is external to the question I'm trying to answer (but it is good to know that maybe they'll be back soon-ish).

For purposes of this question, I'm simply trying to confirm whether the forum has the capacity to email me when a post is added to a thread. It looks like you and I have the same answer to that question: "I don't think it does".

Yes I realize that, was trying to offer an alternative because I think the answer to your question is no. I've looked through the forum settings and account settings but I don't see anything that would allow that.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to hear about the notifications hopefully returning to the site in the next week or two. I also noticed that you answered the actual question in the opening 6 words of your post. I simply wanted to make sure other people that answer don't get too side tracked into talking about the notifications that show up (or not) on the website itself.

A new user showed up in one of the sub forums that I frequent and asked about getting email notifications when topics update. I decided to ask the question to make sure I hadn't missed an option in some obscure, hard-to-reach-unless-you-know-the-url-already part of the site.
