Yup those are the ones! I must have started as an Argon because there were plenty of those street (galaxy?) vendors about.

WinterSnowfall: Actually, Crystals are quite a good trading good to start with, especially if you don't get a TS (freighter). Once you have enough money, use the stock exchange and get the big bucks you need to start your empire.
I remember doing well with Crystals too, and ore once I had a freighter or two. And see, this is what I'm talking about - I didn't even KNOW there was a stock exchange in the game.

I just saw your giveaway for the game (X3 ya?) Nice! Spread the love for this one.

I think this thread might possibly inspire me to fire up TC again and give it a second go. I've been dying for some flight stick action anyway - might as well go big or go home ;)

Ixamyakxim: Find a place to sell the meat! I forgot what it's called exactly (something meat, or something burgers) but these stations are like intergalactic street falafel vendors - you can make some decent starting money providing them with materials.

Grr, now you are really making me want to play the game... I've held off mostly due to what I have to learn as overhead (an hour's worth probably) but now I don't know how much I can hold back from playing...

It's a tough one ;) Playing the game almost can feel like a job. But, I suppose like any good job if you're willing to put the time and effort into it, it can be extremely rewarding. The game is super deep and let's you eventually dominate trade and commerce in the galaxy with entire fleets of vessels and warships.

But to get there takes tons of effort and time - which is both incredibly awesome and insanely daunting LOL. So I can see why you're torn! Though on the flip side, it's not like the game "forces" you to do any of this so I suppose if you DON'T want to do the really "big" stuff you can just putter around doing as you please.

Yeah... while playing Rebel Galaxy I had something similar, good trading and other missions to do, except you couldn't make a fleet, just one big powerful ship and maybe one hireling. This meant creating a force to be reckoned with, or making a company to do trading on the side wasn't an option. But I'd like that type of option, preferably if it grows and the world reacts semi-organically.
