Across the years, Dungeon Siege and Deus Ex series gathered a massive fanbase among the gamers worldwide. Today Dungeon Siege Collection, as well as Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director’s Cut and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided arrive on GOG.COM in all DRM-free glory.

Dungeon Siege Collection (-85%) includes three parts of the cult fantasy RPG series, along with the DLC titled Treasures of the Sun. The Dungeon Siege series was born in 2002 from the Gas Powered Games studio members' passion for the RPG genre. The title captivated gamers around the world with its rich fantasy world, beautiful 3D graphics, and mechanics that were easy to grasp even for the beginners in the RPG domain. It was only a matter of time when the sequel was released in 2005 with the expanded world and a more complex storyline.

Over the years, Dungeon Siege became a cult classic. This led to a movie adaptation of the game featuring Jason Statham and, finally, to the third part of the series. This time it was created by Obsidian Entertainment (veterans of Baldur’s Gate) and published by Square Enix. Released in 2011, Dungeon Siege III introduced gamers to an innovative combat system that made the gameplay even more dynamic and engaging.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (-85%) is also a good example of revamping a cult series. After Deus Ex (2000) and Deus Ex: Invisible War (2003) made a lot of fans thanks to the cyberpunk setting and RPG elements, the series went into a hiatus for nearly a decade.

Human Revolution lets us revisit the same dystopian universe of the future, albeit its story is set a few decades earlier. The world is divided between the supporters and opponents of human augmentations. The main protagonist, Adam Jensen, is a former SWAT member and the head of security at a tech company. He is being cast into the above-mentioned strife after suffering heavy wounds and being biotechnologically enhanced in order to save his life. During the game, the player can expand the main character’s augmentation further, making him even more lethal.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (-85%) further expanded on adventures of Adam Jensen, merging action elements with RPG decision making, that changed the face of the storyline. One of its highly praised elements was the so-called Breach - an alternative game mode set in the virtual world. On top of that Deus Ex series was even further expanded with the successful comics series.

Now you can revisit the fascinating universes of Dungeon Siege and Deus Ex once more, thanks to the Square Enix Publisher Sale on GOG.COM featuring deals up to 89% off until 4th May 2020, 1 PM UTC.

racofer: It's not a weapon DLC for DXMD. The 3 story DLCs cannot be accessed without Galaxy. They simply will not work.
If it was just the stupid cheat items I wouldn't care at all. It's the two expansions and bonus mission that matter.

Same but at least we know exactly whats going on now... and what happened and why... its on GOG now to fix it right. They have the information and the tools to do it as of this morning.

So it's basically a choice between achievements and No-DRM. I would much rather have no-DRM thank you very much. I can live without achievements. I'll wait for GoG's response before deciding to refund - but yeah, should've mentioned stuff like this on the game page.

Rather than mentioning it on the store page, GOG must NOT take this direction AT ALL. Heck, this thing breaks the very drm-free policy in the first place!

I agree but its only $2 more and I went for it.... if they fix it YAY! it not then i still get the base game that i love and cant wait to fully marathon though <3

Doesn't matter if the price is too low. If we buy something they allege to be DRM free, so it has to be DRM free.

I really hope this is a simple oversight.

Unfortunately GOG has messed-up... again :|
Still, I think most folks should cool a bit, instead of getting the pitchforks and the torches. If it's true that all the staff of GOG have been working from home it's natural that there are communication issues between the team. Meaning that the tech staff didn't have time/energy/will to test the game thoroughly in an offline setting or forgot to inform the main team concerning the DLC shortcomings. Or the tech team didn't have the balls to inform the supervisor that there was no way they could bypass the game's settings on time for the launch.

I'm not trying to excuse GOG here... It's a grave mistake. But most folks I know who've been working from home have had to endure terrible issues related to their jobs and poor communication between the different teams. This quarantine has created terrible stress on some enterprises.
But I think everyone should have a little patience. Rushing for a 100+ refunds at the same time won't solve anything and clog the system even more. GOG's been informed and the ball's on their court now.

Besides... if people here are expecting some sort of 100% professional customer service, I think they really are buying on the wrong store. I've been shopping here for 10 years now and I've lost count to the number of times GOG has shot itself in the foot. I still remember that stupid relaunch, when they shut down the entire site in September 2010 :P
And so many stupid, foolish stuff... Oh the memories...

And (despite me using Galaxy) my opinion is the same as most people: if GOG can't bypass the online issue, then the DLCs must be removed from the store. Of course, they could make a warning that only Galaxy users would have access to the DLC but that would create a very terrible precedent for more online-registration games entering here.
No, thanks! If I wanted online, client-dependent single player games, I'd buy on steam.

Anyway, these were just my 2 cents.

Telvas: EULA for Mankind Divided clearly says there is DRM:
"By downloading or installing any Software, you accept: (a) the existence and use of digital rights management software ("DRM")"
avatar
emter_pl: Both Deus Ex games are DRM-free. We're working on updating the EULA text accordingly.
What about the DLC for MD? Words are that it requires internet access.

Gog meant no-drm, period. 100%. No room for interpretation.

I buy games here, even older games, because I know that I can keep them forever. They're mine!

Now this shitty DLC turned that 100% into 99.9%. Now every time I need to buy a game here, I'll have to check if it's _truly_ drm free. This is terrible.

Please regain your 100% status Gog. Go back to be 100%.
Does Invisible War run without any problems? I have it on Steam and it was a complete nightmare in troubleshooting to get it to run properly. Might pick it up here in case I feel like replaying it if it works without problems.

Not really. You can run it with this mod:

https://www.moddb.com/mods/deus-ex-2-visible-upgrade/downloads/visible-upgrade-full-edition

That solves some - not all - issues it tends to have. For me personally, it crashed just roughly before I finished the game and when it did so, it corrupted the save file and sucked the desire right out of me to bother going back through to finish it. Definitely a YMMV situation overall.

Thanks, Last time I played it was before this came out, so will bookmark it.

I spent more time troubleshooting than actual time to complete the game if I remember right. Fix one problem, another one popped up...

Most of us understands this very well already. The main issue is that this is getting more and more common as time goes by, and it wasn't disclosed either in the first place, which makes me wonder if it wasn't intended behaviour or true miscalculation. The question arises for one simple reason: the way they handled the DLCs:

"This is a very interesting case. Square Enix/eidos gave GOG the
unprotected binary but they left all the Steam stuff intact, probably
because Square Enix didn\'t want to waste any of that sweet MTX money
on dev work. So GOG had to add a platform bridge called Ghost to the
game. It\'s a wrapper that translates the Steam calls and redirects
them to GOG Galaxy so the DLC get unlocked. This brings us to the
unique situation where a GOG game, for the first time ever, actually
needs a crack, which is essentially just a normal Steam crack without
custom platform bridges. Enjoy!"

Now putting aside the "whereabouts" this piece of information is coming from, this makes me genuinely wonder if GOG took this decision despite knowing that dlcs wouldn't work without galaxy and still pushed the release, hoping for it to go unnoticed, or if they did it knowing that they would fix it later.

I don't think I have the rights to speak for everyone, but I believe that most of us just don't want more requirements and limitations to the games they put their money on (after all, what's the reason for buying a drm-free game, if it's not TRULY drm-free, while a high sea version truly is?)

I also completely disagree with the option of disclosing it as a galaxy requirement, as this would be the equivalent of opening a can of worms.

If "the scene" can crack it on the same day, then surely GOG can fix the error. I am 100% sure it is an error given the whole point of the website and someone even saying they're DRM free in this thread.
