I was thinking that this was similar to Disney's "Vault" concept:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Vault
Here in the States their movies used to go in and out of the vault. I believe they do this after the value/sales drop to a certain point, so they pull sales instead of just constantly re-issuing the film at lower price points. Then, years later, re-release at full price again. I'm thinking they're just going to be bringing this concept to digital game sales. So if there's anything Disney related you want, keep a close eye on it.

Crisco1492: Thanks for the heads up. I've been sitting on this game for months... it's hard to find decent games for toddlers.
Just do like my parents did and give me Doom(classic) and Command&Conquer...what could go wrong?

(I kid....this would be a bad idea....just my attempt at humor, folks)

Breja: First Aladdin and Lion King disappear from GOG, now this... does Disney hate making money on their games or what?

M3troid: They want to swept the older versions under the carpet, it seems.

A stupid move.

rjbuffchix: Maybe they're working on a new "live action" Ducktales.
Wasn't that what Howard The Duck was? Or will this be a sequel to that?

Chacranajxy: Well, if it helps, I think the PC version still has a glitch where it tends to crash on the last boss. It's a great game, just... probably better played on one of the consoles.

Asbeau: It's getting delisted on consoles too :)
They canna take away PHYSICAL copies. ;)

Maybe there is hope for a "Castle of Illusion" remake.

I doubt it, many older releases are unaffected. It is surely just licensing issues between Disney and the original developers/publishers/whatever.

There's already one. I think it got pulled off Steam and then came back some time ago.

Grargar: Licensing deals are a two-way street. If Capcom (who is the publisher for both games) felt that licensing the game was too expensive for its scope/sales (and I wouldn't doubt it with Disney as the license-holder), then they might have been the one to push for 6 years and choose not to renew the deal.
That's why I said what I said - I'm curious (not that such details will ever be disclosed to the public) about the details of the agreement. I don't doubt Capcom had to be party to it as a publisher, I'm just really interested to know if the terms were different on a per-developer basis as far as WayForward and Digital Eclipse were concerned (and why they might've been different, if they in fact were at all). I guess all I've got is idle speculation to be tucked away in a box of unsolved mysteries.

You are correct. It got re-listed for sale digitally a year (or under a year, I'm not calculating exacts) after it was pulled from storefronts. I'm not positive but I think it even went on sale at the exact same price DuckTales Remastered is currently going for (not factoring any discount codes/etc.).

It's fun enough. My son really liked it.
