While DRM certainly harms games, it harms Gamers more. Though you'd never know it by the numbers that willingly overlook or tolerate it. But in all truth, its not just the DRM on games, its DRM on other things too, and just the general lack of trust everywhere, making the world a colder less friendly more superficial money oriented place.

And oftentimes the DRM is not there to gain profits, but to stop someone getting something for free. Some people just can't handle that, and would rather impose something on everyone, to stop that happening. There is very little logic to DRM, when you step back and look at the bigger picture.

Really it is about lies to self and fears and sometimes greed and failure to grasp the concept of ignore the few bad eggs.

DRM does not make the world a better place, that's for sure.
DRM and client-binding is nothing if not detrimental to gamers. If it's not using extra RAM or bandwidth, it's using processor resources and recording telemetry, or it's smashing you in the face with unwanted advertising. It brings nothing to the gamer at all. I vote with my wallet, and sometimes with torrents.
