It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I can't seem to get the downloader tool to work. When I try to download a game it opens the tool but then it says that it's "offline" and the icon for it is gray, and it just won't even attempt to download anything. Actually the downloads that I already have don't even appear anymore, but fortunately they're still in the directory (I haven't had a chance to make backups yet).

Do you log out from the site whenever you're done here? Maybe it's having trouble authenticating your account.

That's my straw grasp, anyway.

No, I just logged onto his account. It's fine.
Yes, I've logged out and back in. TinyE, don't joke about that, dick! And change your picture back to the alien thing.
It seems the GOG downloader may have broken again. It isn't supported so it may have finally died. Maybe.

I know some will disagree, but I honestly think it's past time to call it dead and to move on (and in the process cleaning up the site some by removing a broken web page, and other downloader related stuff which does not look professional at all).

I've been saying that for months.

Not all of us want to use Galaxy and some of us have crappy net speeds, I have only 3mb at best. The downloader is convenient because downloading by browser, especially on large files, is just not going to work.

Naysayers. I like the GOG downloader it worked perfectly :)

Also used to check the integrity of your download.

All those things might be true. But it's no longer supported, and at this point it's being kept on life support for very few users. Galaxy is the evolution of the downloader, some people will have to make the hard choice... either Galaxy or Browser (or Browser + Download Manager).

Change is inevitable.

lol, you call that crappy? I've got 470 kb/s at best and that only by using the downloader. it's constantly under 400 if I'm downloading via browser.

This logic doesn't make a tons of sense

1) Having 'bad net speeds' has little to do with not wanting to use Galaxy. Galaxy already has bandwidth throttling if 'bad net speeds' are a problem

2) GOG Galaxy doesnt download 'over a browser'. the direct install option on gog basically grabs chunks of data over HTTPS and recombines them locally. Its basically has all the benefits and features of GOG Downloader.

3) note that 'browsers' are in fact highly reselient to download corruption. this is sort of ignoring the fact htat the downloads arent done through 'a browser' anyway

When I was a kid, we would be thankful if we had a 9600 bit/s analog modem! And we didn't even use these fancy technical terms like "kbit/s", but we talked about BAUDS! Bauds? That's how stupid we were!

So don't come telling me how crappy you had it, my childhood was way more crappier!
