Hi there. Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere in another forum, and if it has, please re-direct me to there. If not.. here is my question..

I'm playing EoB through Gog/DosBox. when I run it full screen, graphics lag like crazy. so, I hit Alt+Enter, and dropped it down to the window size, and it works perfectly. But, what I want to know is, Is there a way to make that window a bit bigger? is there a setting to change somewhere in the CFG file?

Any help would be great :)

Thanks in advance

Yes, "windowresolution" in the Dosbox .conf file. Alternatively, you can also go to the "DOSBOX Configurator" program by GOG (there should be a shortcut that got installed alongside the game) to set a larger resolution in the "advanced" tab.

Also, maybe the lag has something to do with the output renderer that's being used. You could try setting it to a different option.

I tried upping the resolution, as per the pic you attached, but didn't seem to do anything. I did up the scaling to 3x and it's bigger.. does that sound right? -sorry, a bit of a noob with this stuff now- :(

Yes, you can use the scaling engine, if it results in a big enough window for you, the only problem may be that certain renderers ignore it.

There's always a bit of experimentation with these settings involved in DOSbox, as certain games tend to be somewhat temperamental and your PC's overall setup also plays into it, to a degree.

However, setting the resolution is the more versatile option and technically should work. I've just tried setting the window resolution of four different games to 1152x864 and they were all displayed accordingly, so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

EDIT: Wait! Check if the renderer is set to "surface". If so, try either "overlay" or "opengl".

that works.. figures It would be the one resolution I didn't try (just didn't seem right to me ;) ) thank you again for your help
