Searching online only offers activating console through Steam account. WTF?

And not being able to skip the intros really sucks. ESC key used to do it.

I had high hopes when I purchased this GOG version of Doom 3 BFG that these things could be done.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Doom 3 BFG's console is disabled by default.

In order to enable it, you'll need to create a new shortcut or modify the existing one. You can find more info in the thread below:

The link from maxpoweruser is the way to go, but since it appears weirdly on GOG, here are the 3 methods you can use to skip the intros.

1. Modify the intro videos
Go to <path-to-game>\base\video.
Rename/delete/move loadvideo.bik.

2. Use +set com_skipintrovideos 1 command line argument.

3. Use com_skipIntroVideos command in autoexec.cfg
Go to the configuration file(s) location or <path-to-game>\base.
Create and open autoexec.cfg.
Add set com_skipIntroVideos "1" and save the file.
