Here is a thread which might be of interest to whoever is still using this old OS and wants to run some recent programs that no longer work on it.
Unloop runs fine on Windows 7. But on quitting the game, it crashs and I have to use the task manager to close it. But that's not a big problem in my eyes
"Pandemic Train" is OK on Windows 7.

Slick_JMista: Yes, they are trying to kill it in order to get you to install intrusive and bloated OSes that need way more ram resources to even run more properly.
So...why not Linux? You've got no intrusion, a memory footprint of around (checks) 3 or so gigabytes with Firefox running in SwayWM, Windows compatibility via the WINE translation framework, and Nvidia finally pulled their heads from their asses and got with the program!
Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood takes a little bit of extra time to load while being stuck on a pure white screen for some odd reason, but works none the less.
"Svarog's Dream" runs fine on Windows 7.
high rated
"Frozenheim" is OK too with Win7
Glad this thread is still active. :) Does anyone here know if WrestleQuest works under W7? I searched the internet for any info but to no avail.

In case anyone is curious, the reason I am asking is because Doc is hosting yet another fun giveaway and I don't wish to participate if the game won't run on my W7 rig, just to be fair to the other participants.

Thanks in advance. :)

Tried Steam demo, worked fine, only issue that it crashed on exiting the game.

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quick! I searched for a demo here on GOG (I'm not on Steam). I really appreciate your feedback! :D

You're welcome! ;)
I heard reports that Galaxy achievements don't work anymore on Win 7 :(

I still have an old Galaxy version that didn't seem to have problems with them.
If I won't update it should still work, or do you think GOG changed something server side that broke the system?

EDIT: I'm playing Blasphemous and it luckily has ingame achievs with a popup option.
Galaxy doesn't detect them at all tho.

The Planet Crafter as of the "Procedural Wrecks" update, stopped working on W7 and now requires W10.

patrikc: GOG is DRM-free and they want DRM. Anyway The Planet Crafter is on GOG. The store page seems to be neglected as it's not early access anymore, though apparently the game itself is up to date.
"You'll have to upgrade to Windows 10 or later", no you, the developer, should have never claimed that your game was compatible with Windows 7 if you weren't committed to not break that compatibility at all or at least to keep the single player side working, if severe enough security updates to multiplayer related third party libraries could not be avoided.

Luckily I hadn't yet started to play this game, so now it will go back to the end of the queue waiting for a time when I consider running games using Lutris to be close enough if not better than running them on a Windows 7 VM, which may take a while, as even though I got past the GPU passthrough issues that I wouldn't have had if the last time I had installed NVidia's Linux drivers wasn't before secure boot had become a thing, I have now discovered that although true surround sound output seems to work with Linux, games with only stereo output are still far more easier to expand to use also center and rear speakers on a Windows 7 VM.
