So I was visiting one of my favorite website and saw they are hiring.
I was interested in applying but sadly I don't have 2 year of writing experience.
May be some of you have.
They are paying enough for an article to satisfy your gaming needs...
I thought may be anyone of you would be interested.

If you have two year’s online writing experience
OR
Extensive Ruby and PHP experience
OR
Extensive HTML and CSS coding experience
then you may apply as a writer, developer or web designer.

One of my favorite blog is hiring.

I didn't know MakeUseOf was a blog! I thought it was a site with articles about technology - I personally visit it rather often, as it tends to have some interesting articles. (fyi, the term "blog" for me is the thoughts of a single person posted online, while makeuseof has multiple article writers...)

I'm definitely not experienced in tech article writing however...

P.S. Just so my comment isn't terribly useless, here's its latest article: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/run-windows-95-in-your-browser-with-no-extra-software/

I was wondering if no will give chance to write first time then how can we get the experience???

Yeah, it a website. Let me fix it.

Why don't you try for it? May be they will hire you.
I have seen stupid articles there and even mocked them in comments. :P
It's somewhat tempting to apply for the programming jobs.. but I doubt I have the qualifications I'd need, and getting paid in $ might be more trouble then it's worth (no idea how tax would work or where it would need to be paid...)

That's a fair point indeed but it happens in all jobs nowadays - everybody's like "we won't hire you if you don't have experience" so the problem ends up being that someone isn't hired because he wasn't previously hired, because he wasn't hired before that etc. In the case of makeuseof however, it looks like one could create the experience himself, e.g. by posting in a blog of his own, since they accept this as previous experience...

Well, I could try, but I doubt anything would come out of it. Other than the tax problem adaliabooks already mentioned (I'm also based in Europe and not USA), while I could totally apply for the article writing jobs (especially the linux one, as I'm looking into linux at this time and read quite some articles on that and found about a lot of unknown apps/tips&tricks, and I have no experience regarding win10), I've also studied in uni a field that isn't computer science/journalism (I do like the field I've studied a lot, but it isn't exactly a field leading to a career in tech journalism...), so I'd be in a disadvantage compared to other applicants. At any rate, I won't mind not getting this kind of job, I had just wondered for a moment, "what if I got such a job"? So nothing serious...

That's probably bendable. The writing experience is to show that you know your stuff and can prove it. I imagine that if you have just half a year of articles they really like, they'd hire you.

That's why I didn't gave you link in chat.
You were the first person which came to my mind when I saw that post.
But you should give it a go.

Once they liked my comment.
It was featured as Comment of the week.
I even won a t-shirt for that comment!!! But that wont be counted for sure.

That depends. It mainly depends on whether you think that you have deep understanding of a subject they're interested in and think you can write good articles about it.

What they're interested in is your writing ability. IMO if you start a blog now, write several high quality posts, give them a link and tell them you're a guy who won comment of the week, they will most likely consider you.

So if you're really interested in applying, i.e., you believe that you can write the articles they're looking for, then I'd suggest that you write some and apply.

Thank you for the idea.
I will apply for it next time.

Hehe, thanks :)

I'm not sure between my meagre experience and the possible issues with payments etc. its worth applying... but I'll think about it.
I could certainly do with the extra income and have been looking for some remote work programming jobs, but I don't have much confidence that my abilities make me employable for such roles...
