I have accepted a few friend requests from people I don't know. The only stipulation is that their profile cannot be set to "private" or in other words: don't send a friend request out of the blue and then hide behind anonymity.
Yeah, all the time unfortunately.
Just today when I walking home some strange lady approached me and insisted we've got to be friends. I ran before she tries to stab me.
It was third time this week it happened.

Maybe because you look like a very unpopular public figure? It often happened to me in Jewish neighbourhoods... until I changed my haircut and shaved my narrow little moustache.
I've had a few.

I generally add anyone who I've had pleasant interaction with or who come across respectable in the forum, but I really don't get the random friend requests from people that I've not only never spoken to, but have never even interacted in the forum as far as I could see.

Ok, seriously...
One time somebody added me / I've never seen this person on the forum before.
I accepted him and asked in a personal message why he added me. Reply: you ask weird questions.
Also got a few. Just today I got another one.

That's funny.

I also got this friend invite spam. Two times already from the same person after I declined that person's invite. I really don't want to block people for no reason, but if I get the third friend invite from him, I will have to do so.

Problem is that blocking doesn't stop someone from adding you.
Guys you can block Baitenov.Tamerlan, but it won't stop him to add you again.

So this function is only blocks chat with that person? What a shame, GOG!

Thanks for the link to another topic.

Well, it also prevents you from adding the other user as a friend (though you could just unblock if you want to do so); it just doesn't block *them* from adding *you* (and it should).

Who the heck is that guy anyway?
Not like you can message him.

Did he send you a friend request as well?
I also got baitenov. Obviously spamming for friends for some reason, especially since I've been inactive here for a year.

DadJoke007: Yes, and from people I talk to. I accept neither, just a vain digital friendship bracelet.
Bu...but... what's wrong with friendship bracelets?

Yes, and I have denied, friended him then removed him several times.

It is not like you can message him tho.
