It's always the same simple logic:
You buy the rights of a game -> you own a game.
You buy the license to play a game -> you own a license to play a game.
You always own what you buy. We only have to declare more clearly what we actually buy.
If GOG says they sell you games and speak of games libraries they are actually a bit sloppy. In truth it's only licenses to play a games and libraries of licenses to play games.

It's your good right to do so. I for example think this would be only consequent. It's very hard though. Are you prepared to live without games? (Or do you want to go over to the dark side?)
I take a bit less consequent and more muddy path between light and darkness. I pay for the games, I don't sell them, but I will certainly share them with family members and I will certainly not erase them when I die. Everything else would be totally ridiculous. If GOG insists on that they can stick the EULA up their ....
