So I just bought Doom as the first game for my GOG library and I've been testing it out. Had a interesting experience with the keyboard, but I want to know if this game and its sequels function with a controller. Has anyone played the games using a controller such as the one used for Xbox? They didn't say that the game has controller support, but I want to know if anyone managed to play the game with one.
I just put it here

Thanks, I'll look into it
Not really. But there's nothing stopping you from using a source port.
I was able to get controller support working beautifully with a 8bitdo v2 wireless usb adapter and an original xbox one controller.

It may be that controller support is built in now, but I wanted to post my success story. Having a great time playing through DOOM II which I have never played before, although have played the original DOOM plenty.

Note: for some reason when launching from the desktop icon that was created as part of install, the DOOM + DOOM II title screen loses focus. It requires clicking anywhere within the title screen with the mouse pointer to regain focus and then be able to control the screen with controller (or an other controls for that matter).
