Does this ship with the "Definitive" edition of Divinity: Original Sin II?

Also, does it ship with the Ascension pack for Divinity: Original Sin II?

Also, how does this compare to Pillars of Eternity? I was a big fan of BG1, BG2, and IWD 1. Didn't like IWD2 due to playing mechanics, and the numerous bug issues (thank goodness for PC and console commands). Was looking for something with a similar feel.
The combat in D:OS is a lot more tactical than it was in BG or Pillars. Those games do have good tactical elements, but this game gets almost frustrating (for me, not a fan of tactical RPGs really) trying to line up enemies with environmental traps and spells with AOE not killing everything on the screen including your tanks.

Yes.
Hmmm.... That doesn't sound like it's that much fun. At least in the Infinity Engine games, you could stack say fire resistance on your tank and send him in while lobbing everything from fireballs to explosive arrows into the melee. Sounds almost like a game that got too technical for its own good.

Guessing that it allows you to kill essential NPC's without warning you before hand? The change to un-killable essential NPC's was one of the many changes I wasn't fond of in later TES games. However, if you have massively stupid NPC's and they wander into combat, could see where it could get clunky.

So, four characters: Fighter, Mage, Thief/Archer, Cleric I'm guessing?
