Hm, couldn't you have waited for 24 hours, so that people around the world would have had a chance to enter? 8 hours is a pretty short time frame.

I mean, you are free to do whatever since it's your code (I'm also not personally interested in it as I haven't even played the first one) but I just wanted to point it out since it didn't seem that "fair".

There were numerous entries, so the time wasn't all that much of a limiting factor.

And at least he didn't put up stupid requirements like rep count.

What do you mean with "entries"? Posts, threads? I said that if it's limited to 8 hours, in that time alone you could be sleeping, working or doing both without the possibility to ever see this giveaway before it's over.

Sometimes I let my giveaways run for several days. Sometimes I run them through the morning where I live, sometimes through the evening giving different groups of people a chance to win. I do it because it feels good to make someones day.
My mind just boggles at being criticised for an act of generosity.

Have you read what I wrote? I merely pointed something out which I noticed. If you take that as criticism, that's your choice (heck, I even absolved you from that since I figured such a reaction could be possible).
