At the moment I'm trying my very best not to break and redeem my DOS2 Kickstarter copy to steam, because I ofc prefer my games organic :P and DRM-free. I know that early access comes later in Oct here too, so that somewhat soothes my impatience, though TWTR is very irritating at the moment.

This does bring the question in my mind, what's the problem for the delay in this case? Is it Larian (or any dev for that matter) caring less for the release on GOG because the expect bigger audiences in steam so they focus on that or is it that GOG adds extra hurdles for devs to the point that it's not worth their distraction from the bigger audience?
Saw that the other day and still in early stages?

Check the game's page... it will tell you when the game shows up here. Nobody can give you a reason why, but it's been that date since the announcement... it's not a sudden delay.

edit: to argue with myself - I just checked the page again after yesterday and the date changed from a specific date to 'October'. You're right - that is annoying.

Trying hard to resist redeeming my Double Dibs as well but mostly because I don't plan on playing it till it's done.

I guess you could hope they make it another 'GOG Connect' "release bonus" kind of deal like they did with Master of Orion.

Can't really say why GOG gets the game later than Steam, but GOG did announce that the game would enter the in-dev program in October more than 2 weeks ago:

Divinity: Original Sin II is planned to join the Games in Development program on GOG.com in October 2016.
