I have encountered nothing but problem after problem after I bought a game two days ago and attempted to install it yesterday.

So first of all I bought and installed Empire Earth probably a year ago, or longer, and the game just didn't work correctly. Moments after entering a match the game would completely freeze. So I uninstalled that and never worried about it again. I am unsure if that was a problem with GoG, but I wouldn't be surprised at this point. I purchased Star Wars Battlefront II a couple days ago, but didn't start the download until yesterday. There's 3 parts. I clicked the first one and downloaded it, then attempted to install it. I got an error saying I need the next part. After searching around a bit I realized I needed to get the next two parts. So I downloaded those, ten attempted to install the third one after it was done. Got the same error. So I went and got the gog downloader, first of all, are you serious? You can't even make a web page correctly.

Anyway, I hit the first link, and it downloaded the downloader. However, when I opened it, it says I have no games in my library. Wtf? So since this site just loves conveniencing me, I downloaded gog.galaxy (You're not steam, this is too much.) It properly displays my full library. I went to the Battlefront II page, hit download, and it started up. After it was done it asked me for the administrator password, which was put in, and WOW! another error! "Invalid command line switch". Can I just play my game ffs?!

Holy shit is this a joke? After clicking "Post my message" it says processing, please wait. Over.... and over. I look up it, would you look at that, a forum thread with 3 pages full of people who encountered this problem. How long ago? 2014? Why is this still a problem? Tsk tsk tsk

Oh and.... no support forum?

There should be bin files and a exe file if I remember correctly. The exe file is the one you want to install the game, make sure the bin files are in the same location as the exe file. If you have all the required files, it should begin to install. These are broken up for a variety of reasons (some people like to back up games on disc) and so your not downloading one large file.

It sounds like to me you have all the files but are selecting the wrong one to install. If you see one with a gold icon, that should be the exe file.

The GOG Downloader is no longer supported, though some people like to still use it. People have issues with it but GOG will not be fixing them, so I personally don't recommend it. As far as Galaxy, it just came out of beta 2 weeks ago, it's bound to still have some bugs. I would advise reporting it in the Galaxy thread and/or on mantis which the Galaxy bug tracker. I'm not quite sure why you are getting that, you may have to actually log into the admin account and install for now (I assume you are trying to install from a standard account).

You seem to be having some really bad luck, while bugs do happen... I hardly get many on GOG. The forum is a piece of crap though and is likely going to be replaced sooner or later.

This game: https://www.gog.com/game/empire_earth_gold_edition is officially not supported on Windows 10. Some have got it to work anyway.

Did you see this notice on the game's card: "AMD compatibility notice: Star Wars: Battlefront II does not support AMD Crimson Edition drivers 15.12 or newer, and requires version 15.11 (stable version) or older drivers."

Firstly, do you match the specifications on the game page? If not then there is not much help.
Secondly, what are you using, you mention various different things. Drop all the other programs, open browser, download all the parts of the game. Now you have --all-- the parts of the game, click on the exe file, normally would sort to the top one. Make sure, and very important, you install to somewhere outside windows folders. Create a folder yourself, c:\games, or something like that, set the install path to that so you avoid all windows UAC issues.
If you complete all the above and it still does not work, first google the error or issue you get, a search generally throws up solutions, it may be missing a folder for saves, or require some historic driver/directx etc. Remember these are old games and so can be finickety.
Finally if you have done all that, contact support, expect to wait a few days. If they can still not get it running and you match the specifications then you can get a refund.
I do greatly appreciate the swift responses. I tried a third time to install through gog galaxy. Got the Directx setup prompt, put in the password, got the error, but this time maybe 10-15 seconds after I got that error, it brought up a different gog program that it asked for permission for, unfortunately I forgot the name. After putting in the password, I was able to play and enjoy the game.

I may not understand the library entirely. I go to the website, click library under my profile name, then click battlefront II. Here it displays a 3 part download under game downloads, and then the game goodies on the right. I pressed all three and it started the download in the usual chrome way. They went straight to my downloads folder under This PC. When I go to that folder, I only see 5 instances of the same download, which is weird. I am absolutely positive I clicked all three at one point. Thanks for all the information.

Thank you very much for this info. Fortunately my drivers seem to be old enough.

The good news is that if you do allow them to throw up their errors (twice in my case) you can continue with the install process as normal once you close the dialogue error boxes, at least that is what happens with me!
