I was told by Foxhack that Owlboy had a significantly cheaper price in Mexico. But when I checked out the price on the gog pagem what I saw was different than what he was telling me.
I was getting the 20 dollars price, as seen in this screenshot:

Then I logged in using Edge, and there I got the prices he mentioned

On chrome I am using Proxmate, but even if I disable that (I use it for Netflix) I am still getting the higher price through Chrome, even though I disabled it.
I am also using uBlock Origin but I have also diabled it when trying to check it again.

The higher prices I am getting in gog compared to the geolocated steam have diminished the amount of games I have gotten through gog lately, since on Steam they are sometimes even half the price of what they are being offered on Gog, but it seems that this could have somrthing to do with it, since when opening it through Edge I AM getting pretty competitive prices.

What could be causing this issue?

Checking it in Firefox as well, getting the "regional" prices there. So it must be something going on with either ublock or proxmate...
I am getting the lower prices through Incognito as well.

Now I have disabled all the extesions on regular chrome, but I am still getting the higher prices there. I have no idea why that would happen.
I guess using proxmate caused Chrome to create a cookie with wrong region information. Clearing all GOG related cookies and visiting the site again with proxmate deactivated should fix that.

That did the trick! Disabled proxmate, cleared the cookies on chrome, and now it matches the price as it should. Thanks!

It's the gog_lc cookie, but they also use HTML localStorage as well and a similar value stored in there. The website used to additionally have a bug where it would randomly set the country to the wrong country. For example, I am in Canada and at the time my gog_lc cookie should have read "CA-USD-en" or something like that, and it would sometimes but then randomly it would show "US-USD-en" and stay like that for a while, both in Firefox, Chrome and also Galaxy although I didn't have an easy way to see the cookie in Galaxy, but the problem it caused was still visible there.

I complained endlessly about the problem in the forums and to GOG support and they kept telling me I was the only one to report the issue and they couldn't see any problems. The problem with that though is that even if every single GOG user experienced the problem, most people would never even realize they were being shown the wrong prices of things or that the cookie was set incorrectly. I mean, what percentage of the GOG population goes in and looks at the values stored in cookies in their browser? How many people memorize what the correct price for every game should be and then notice when it is being charged higher or lower suddenly from one page load to the next? It's a complete fluke for anyone to ever even notice. And for those who do, most would probably ignore it or shrug their shoulders, only a small few might think it is a bug and only a small fraction of them would be likely to file a bug report or support request, so I scoffed at the idea I was the only one experiencing it.

So I worked behind the scenes and got 3 other people on different ISPs in other cities in Canada to reproduce the problem trivially also, but that didn't seem to tip the scales much either.

I kept hounding GOG about it though probably until they got sick of me, and eventually one of the nice fellas that work on the website contacted me via PM to tell me to test for the problem again and I spent a few days fiddling with it as sometimes it took a while to trigger. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue since then however, and GOG has added CAD currency since then also which has changed my situation as well.

While I experienced the problem though, a short workaround to make it vanish temporarily was as mentioned above - to clear the gog_lc cookie and localStorage manually (I use CookieMonster in Firefox) and on reload it set it correctly for the first page load and maybe reloads for a while.

So if the problem returns for you, keep harassing GOG support about it and tell them skeletonbow reported a similar issue a year or so ago that eventually got fixed so it might be the same problem in another country/currency combo perhaps. :)
Thank you very much. Now i know what to do in case this happens again. Greatly appreciate all the posts with help!
