blotunga: At least Russians do get a discount :). In Romania everything es at least as much as in Germany or even more expensive, yet wages are about 8 times smaller. Funny that for example Borderlands 2 GOTY is more expensive in EU2 than in EU1...

Grargar: It is? I see it's €45 in both EU regions.
Wut. It's €29.99 in EU1 and DE and €19.99 in EU2 (when not discounted).

Are you confusing Borderlands 1 with 2? GOTY with non-GOTY version? Because Borderlands 2 GOTY costs €45, both on Steamprices and on German Steam.

Mixed up B2 goty with non-goty. Woopsie!

WildHobgoblin: As for Gog, paying with dollars now is just cheaper than paying in euro, so I'll just go with that for the time being.

ZFR: Just curious, doesn't your bank charge you anything for the currency exchange? I pay around 1.75% for the exchange when I buy in USD. So even if the GOG euro price is a few cents higher than the mean exchange price, as it is at the moment, it's still better to pay in euro.
No, I don't pay anything here, and I'm pretty sure it's the same for all the other banks in this country. So paying in dollars is usually preferrable, especially since we can get dollars at a better price than euros - or rather used to, with the crown's articificial devaluation by the national bank it soon may be better to pay in Euros because the dollar went up by a whopping 25%! You used to be able to get it for 18-20 Czk, now one dollar costs about 24-26 Czk. While the Euro went up from 25 to 31 and then dropped again, so now it's about 26. So yeah, before the dick move which lowered our currency's strength (which was to supposedly 'help' the economy but because export companies often use imported parts or goods to create their products, it doesn't help them and has actually driven their costs up as well as all the import companies and everyday prices have gone up - only the banks profit from it), it was always better to buy the games here with dollars for us.
For me it's usually the difference as you can see in the image:

Yep, most of the time I have to pay more than the Euro1 tier (or maybe it's just the games I want to buy)
